Kudadoo Maldives Private Island

Fifteen residences on a small island in Lhaviyani Atoll. Every one sits over water, every one has its own pool, and there is nothing else on the island. No beach villas, no category ladder, no upgrade to negotiate at check-in. Three nights for two, all-inclusive with seaplane transfers and green tax, starts at ₹13,68,600.

What separates Kudadoo from the rest of the all-inclusive market is not the food. It is that spa and excursions sit inside the rate, along with the run of sister resort Hurawalhi. Those lines quietly add a few hundred dollars a day at almost every other resort in the country.

The residences

Both categories have the same infinity pool, a wide overwater deck, a king bed and a bathroom with tub and double vanity. Your butler is on call around the clock and starts work before you land, taking snorkel sizes and shaping the week with you.

What this actually costs

Every price below is the whole trip for the room: the residence, the Anything Anytime Anywhere plan, return shared seaplane transfers for everyone in it, and government green tax. TGST and the service charge are already inside the room rate, so there is nothing added at check-out except what you buy off the exclusions list further down.

Three things worth doing with those tables

• Four adults should look hard at the two bedroom. Four nights to 31 October is ₹30,44,200 in the two bedroom against ₹35,81,000 for two separate one-bedroom residences. That is ₹5,36,800 saved, and it widens to ₹8,24,100 in the January to March band. The trade is one shared living space and one shared pool.
• The green season is worth ₹6,26,900. The same one-bedroom residence for four nights is ₹17,90,500 to 31 October 2026 and ₹24,17,400 in the January to March window. Lhaviyani in the southwest monsoon means more rain and, in the same months, the atoll's better manta and whale shark season.
• Ask us about the domestic route. Prices above use the seaplane. The domestic flight to Madivaru plus boat is US$395 per adult return in Comfort against US$500, which takes ₹21,600 off a two-adult booking and ₹43,200 off a four-adult one. It also runs later into the evening. Say the word and we will re-cost it.

The spa line is the one worth pausing on. At a conventional all-inclusive, a couple taking one treatment each every other day would spend more on the spa alone than most people budget for drinks. Here it is inside the number in the table.

Getting there

• Direct seaplane from Velana International Time About 40 minutes · What to know Daylight only. The last flight out of Malé is usually no later than about 16:00 and the last one off Kudadoo leaves around 16:00 too. A late-evening landing in Malé means a night in the capital, and that costs you a resort night. Send us your inbound flight and we will tell you before you book, not after.

Kudadoo keeps a lounge at the seaplane terminal, complimentary on arrival. Names and international flight details are needed five days ahead for the seaplane and seven for the domestic flight, so send them to us early.

The house reef and the water

Strong, and unusually easy to get to. The reef runs directly beneath the residences, so you enter from your own steps instead of swimming out to find it. It is mostly brain coral, which handles heat better than branching coral, so it came through the bleaching in better shape than much of the atoll. Turtles are routine on the seagrass. Lhaviyani is one of the more dependable atolls in the country for manta, and the dive centre runs channel dives that most guests rate above the snorkelling. Note that dive courses are one of the few things outside the rate.

Children, and an open question on the age policy

Ask us before you plan a family trip here. Kudadoo has been sold as an adults-only island for years, and parts of this page still say guests aged 15 and over. The resort now tells us something different: that Kudadoo accommodates guests of all ages, that children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult in the residence and cannot use Hurawalhi or 5.8, and that the resort provides no childcare, so you bring your own nanny. The two-bedroom residence is also specified for two adults and two children.

We are not going to guess which is current. If a child is travelling, we will get the position in writing from the resort before you pay anything.

What is not in doubt: children under two travel and stay free, and from the second birthday a child is charged at the adult rate. That is why the two-bedroom prices above are four full fares.

Who this isn't for

If you want sand at your door, there are no beach villas here at all. If you want six restaurants, a beach club and an island you can walk around for an hour, one small island with a single main building will feel small by day four. Festive dates are not sold on the packages above: 27 December to 5 January carries a five-night minimum and mandatory gala dinners at US$600 a head on Christmas Eve and US$900 on New Year's Eve, and the resort will not accept a booking that checks out on 31 December, so those weeks need a hand-built quote. And if the budget is tight, fifteen residences with everything included prices exactly the way you would expect.

We still send people here often. It suits couples on a milestone trip who want privacy and no bill at the end, and it suits them very well.

Before you pay

• Full payment falls due early. Thirty days before arrival for summer stays, 45 days for the November to April bands, 60 days over festive.
• Cancellation is total from the same date. Cancel inside that window and the full stay is charged. A date change inside it counts as a cancellation. Travel insurance is not optional here.
• There are only two two-bedroom residences. We confirm availability before you commit.
