Pranjal started the business in 2004 and has been selling the Maldives ever since. Twenty-two years means he has watched resorts open, rebrand, change hands and quietly slide. It is the reason he will tell you when a well-known name is not what it used to be.

Co-Founder
Amosha co-founded the business and is on every inspection trip. Walking the islands rather than reading the brochures is how we know which house reefs are worth the swim and which kids' clubs only open in season.

Experiences worth booking ahead
Floating Breakfast
Only bookable if you're in a pool villa, so worth deciding before you pick your villa category. Pancakes, eggs, pastries, fruit and coffee floated out on a tray at sunrise. Most resorts charge per couple and want notice the day before.
Sunset Cruise
An hour or two on a traditional dhoni as the light goes. Dolphins are common, never guaranteed. Ask us which resorts run this as a private charter rather than a shared boat — the price gap is smaller than you'd expect.
Island Hopping
A day on a local island shows you a side of the Maldives resorts don't. Two things to know before you go: dress modestly away from the designated bikini beach, and no alcohol is served on inhabited islands. Easiest from North and South Malé, where the islands sit close together.
Cinema under the stars
A screen on the beach, loungers, and dinner while you watch. Book it early in your stay rather than the last night — it's weather-dependent and often gets moved, so leave yourself a spare evening.
