Exceptional Staff

Our stay at the Radisson Blu Maldives was nothing short of incredible. The island is simply breathtaking, surrounded by crystal-clear turquoise waters full of colourful tropical fish, reef sharks, and an abundance of marine life. We stayed in a water villa with a private plunge pool — luxurious, spacious, and beautifully designed, with the best snorkelling right from our doorstep. Every member of staff greeted us with a warm smile and nothing was ever too much trouble. A special thank you to Nujoom, Maty, Sundaru, Aiza, Rethes, Sharaf, Aalif, Adhilia, Nasru, Bandana, and Prasath. We also booked excursions to snorkel with whale sharks and swim with manta rays — among the highlights of our trip. The Radisson Blu Maldives gave us memories that will last a lifetime.

Heaven

Wonderful resort set in South Ari Atoll, filled with very good aquatic life for snorkelling with young kids. Stayed in an overwater bungalow on the sunset side and it was beautiful. Kids especially enjoyed calling for the buggies to take us around. Elaza, Mahmoud, Bandara, Nujoom, Chamara and Pradip were all very helpful and engaging with the kids. Weather was perfect — whether you are looking for a family-friendly place or a couples retreat, Radisson Blu will suit. Lots of private space to relax or loads of activities if you wish.

Honeymoon Experience

We enjoyed our time in the Maldives and at Radisson Blu Resort. The nature and the sea were something magical, staff are welcoming, and the resort is clean. There are some areas for improvement — late-night snack options are limited after 10pm, and the on-site shopping and extras can be pricey. Food could be elevated further. Overall a beautiful destination with room to grow.

Fifty per cent comes off the room on every date to 23 December 2027, and the door to book it shuts on 15 January 2027. Three nights for two in a 220 sqm overwater pool villa, with transfers both ways and green tax inside the number, is ₹236,400.

The sharpest price on our books, and a fifteen-month travel window bookable inside a four-and-a-half-month door. The discount is already in the price above. Flights to Malé are not.

What this actually costs

Pick a villa and dates above and the figure is the whole stay for two adults, bed and breakfast: the villa and its pool, return transfers, green tax and every other tax. Nothing is added at the resort.

  • The transfer does not move. It is ₹113,200 for two however long you stay, which on three nights is 48% of the total. Seven nights in the entry villa is ₹400,600, so a week costs less than twice a long weekend. The extra nights are the cheapest part of this trip.
  • Two more discounts sit off the dropdown, and they stack. Book 45 days ahead for 5% more, 60 days for 10%, 90 days for 15%. Nine nights or more takes another 5%. Ninety days out on nine nights brings the entry villa from ₹482,800 to ₹415,900. Neither applies over the festive fortnight.
  • The meal plan upgrade is the part to read twice. Pay for half board and you receive full board. Pay for full board and you receive Classic All-Inclusive. On four nights the full board price is ₹144,100 and it hands you ₹193,500 of all-inclusive. Take it. Everyone in the villa must be on the same plan.
  • US$50 of spa credit per person per day comes with every booking. It is a daily allowance, not a pot, so a skipped day is gone for good.

Who this isn’t for

Anyone whose trip is built around snorkelling off the beach. The island is man-made and no reef rings it. Snorkelling happens in two lagoon patches in front of the restaurants: fish, blacktips, little living coral, strong current, water too shallow to swim some mornings.

The diving in South Ari is a different matter, with whale sharks in the atoll year-round. Come here for the boat dives, not the swim off your steps.

Nor for anyone who needs a guaranteed seaplane arrival, or a child under twelve in an overwater villa. The resort advises against it and asks a parent to sign a waiver at check-in.

Before you book

  • Two transfer routes, and the resort picks. Seaplane, about 30 minutes, daylight only, so your flight must land at Velana by 15:30. Or a 20-minute domestic flight to Maamigili plus a 15-minute speedboat.
  • Cancellation is late, then absolute. No partial tier: free until 8 days out, then 100% of the stay. In the January to April and October to December 2027 windows, free until 15 days then 100%. Festive is 100% from 30 days.
  • Children under twelve stay and eat free. Teenagers 12 to 17.99 stay free too but pay the full adult transfer of ₹56,600 return. 24 December 2026 to 5 January 2027 is not sold here: the discount drops to 40% and two compulsory gala dinners land on top.

House reef 2/5 Thin

Little or nothing to snorkel off the beach. Some islands in this band run a free boat to a reef — the note below says whether this one does.

The island is man-made and there is no reef ringing it. Snorkelling happens in two lagoon areas in front of the restaurants: fish, blacktips, the occasional nurse shark, but little living coral. Reports vary a lot by villa, and some guests off the water villas have had excellent days. The current there runs strong and the water is too shallow to swim some mornings, so ask us which villa you are being quoted before you plan around the reef. The diving in South Ari is a different matter entirely and it is excellent.
