Exceptional
The reef runs the length of the beach and around the island, and guests often step into the water straight from their villa. Expect dense schools of reef fish, with reef sharks and green turtles daily, plus eagle rays, stingrays, octopus and, after dark, nurse sharks. The shallows suit less confident swimmers, while the outer edge carries the richer life. Some stretches are still recovering from past bleaching, and a very experienced snorkeller found only one of the three channels through to the edge still clear, so ask where to get in on arrival. Mornings usually give the best visibility, and the western side has the calmest, easiest entry. This island reopened under new management recently and guests still describe it as settling in, so excursion arrangements may change. Snorkel gear is included, while guided reef snorkels are charged. Hanifaru Bay is a short trip in manta season.

Land at Velana after 15:00 and the last seaplane of the day will have gone, which means a night in Malé before you reach the island.
Seaplanes fly in daylight only, so a late landing in Malé means a night there first. A domestic flight to Dharavandhoo and a speedboat is the alternative. Checked luggage on the seaplane is 20 kg each, with 5 kg in the cabin.

About the resort
NH Collection Maldives Reethi Resort sits in Baa Atoll, a 35-minute seaplane flight from Malé, and its house reef runs the length of the beach. Guests often step in straight from their villa, and Hanifaru Bay is a short boat ride away in manta season.
The island reopened under new management recently and is still settling in. It is sold here on half board, full board or all inclusive.
What you pay
Every price on this page is for two adults sharing, for three or four nights, with your meal plan, the return seaplane and every Maldivian tax, green tax included. Only the weeks before the festive season are priced on this page; ask us for any other dates.
All inclusive comes to about a fifth more than half board. The overwater villa is a step up from the beach villas, and a beach villa with its own pool adds a little more again.
What's included, and what isn't
In the price: your villa and meal plan, water, coffee and tea with meals, the return seaplane, non-motorised water sports, snorkel gear, yoga and the gym, and all Maldivian taxes. Half board is breakfast and a themed buffet dinner at Jumla. All inclusive adds lunch, drinks by the glass, a daily minibar, a US$50 spa credit each and one dolphin cruise or guided snorkel.
Not in the price: other drinks on half and full board; in-villa dining and speciality dinners; diving and other excursions; the compulsory Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve dinners; your international flights; travel insurance; Indian TCS; and anything not named above.
Who this isn't for
The Sunset Beach Villa is small, at 38 m², and takes no more than two adults and a child. Families should look at the Deluxe Sunset Villa or the overwater villa instead. Guests still describe the resort as settling in, so excursion arrangements may change.

Couples on honeymoon or celebrating a milestone anniversary get a fruit basket, a cake, sparkling wine and a spa voucher with proof of the date. Parents with young children in an overwater villa sign a waiver on arrival.

Can I see mantas from NH Collection Maldives Reethi Resort?
Hanifaru Bay, where mantas gather in large numbers, is a short boat ride away in the southwest monsoon season. Trips there are not included in any meal plan. Ask us and we will tell you what is running on your dates.
Is NH Collection Maldives Reethi Resort good for families?
Choose the villa carefully. The Deluxe Sunset Villa and the overwater villa take two adults and two children, while the Sunset Beach Villa takes only one child. Parents with young children in an overwater villa sign a waiver on arrival. Tell us the ages of everyone travelling and we will price the whole family.
Are taxes and the seaplane included at NH Collection Maldives Reethi Resort?
Yes. Every price on this page includes the villa, your meal plan, the return seaplane for two, the green tax and every other Maldivian tax. Indian TCS is extra. Your international flights and travel insurance are not included.
