Getting there
Send us your flight times before you book them. Unlike a seaplane island there is no daylight cut-off here, but the domestic schedule is worth checking against your arrival rather than assuming.

Only seven of each overwater villa exist, against nineteen Beach Pool Villas. If you want to be above the lagoon, ask early rather than late.
The land villas here are unusually large. The entry Beach Villa is bigger than either overwater category. Every villa has a private deck, an outdoor garden bathroom with a tub and a rain shower, and its own stretch of beach with two loungers.

Two things worth knowing
Everyone on the booking has to be on the same meal plan for the whole stay. You cannot put one person on half board and another on bed and breakfast.
The plan starts at 2pm on the day you arrive and stops at noon on the day you leave, so your last lunch is charged.

The water
Why we rate it 5 out of 5
The reef circles the island. Most resorts have one good stretch and three ordinary ones, and you spend the week swimming back to the same corner. Here there is no single best spot.
Coral starts a few steps off the beach and runs about 150 metres out to the drop-off. There is a jetty at each end, so a nervous swimmer can get to the edge of it without a long swim.
It bleached badly in 2016 and has recovered well since. The currents are usually gentle, and the water villas have deep entry even at low tide.
Commonly seen: reef sharks, hawksbill turtles, eagle rays, nurse sharks and spinner dolphins.
What else is on the island
Marine biologists live here and run Park Hyatt’s Ocean Lab, so you can learn what you are looking at. Blue Journeys, the resort’s marine centre, runs the diving, and guided reef snorkels go out by day and after dark.
The Vidhun Spa has five treatment villas for couples. Park Hyatt holds EarthCheck Silver certification.

Two adults, four, five or seven nights, breakfast and dinner, the return flight and boat, and every Maldivian tax. Indian TCS is the only thing added.

Two ways to pay less
There is an India offer until 31 October, and it takes roughly a third off.
For travel from November, booking ninety days ahead gets you twenty per cent off the villa and a free lift to a better meal plan. Tell us your dates and we will apply it.

Christmas and New Year, 25 December to 9 January. The gala dinners are compulsory and expensive, so we price those dates by hand.

One date to watch
The India offer has to be booked and travelled by 31 October 2026. Those are the same day, so there is no grace period on it.
Things we would rather you heard from us
- Guided snorkelling is charged separately. On an island people come to for its reef, that surprises some guests. Swimming out yourself is free; going out with a guide is not.
- The overwater decks are on the small side. Guests say so in their reviews, and that there is not much privacy on them. If a big deck matters more than waking above the lagoon, take a land villa. They are larger here than the overwater ones.
- Your last day’s lunch is charged. The meal plan stops at noon on the day you leave.
- The flight from Male sometimes stops on the way. It adds the best part of an hour. We check it against your dates before you book anything.
