Marc Reader is the new General Manager of Amilla Maldives in Baa Atoll. He brings more than 30 years in luxury hotels across Australia, Singapore and the Maldives, and the appointment is a return to the islands for him.

Who he is

Marc trained in cookery and hotel management before moving into running resorts. In the Maldives he has held senior roles at Huvafen Fushi and with PER AQUUM, and he ran Finolhu from Christmas 2016 to Easter 2023.

What he plans for Amilla

Marc calls Amilla an island with "enormous personality and enormous potential", and says he is there to build on it rather than change it. His stated priorities are raising service standards, developing the team and keeping the relaxed, personal feel the island is known for.

A father himself, he says he pays close attention to how couples, families and families travelling with grandparents each use a resort differently, and wants guests free to spend their days as they choose.

The island he takes on

Amilla is one of the greener islands in the Maldives, with old banyan trees, dense tropical planting and plenty of birdlife. The reef around it includes a spot known as the Blue Hole.

What it means if you are booking

Nothing changes in how you book Amilla or in what your holiday includes. If you have stayed before and want to know what is new since your last visit, ask us and we will check with the resort before you travel.

Tell us your dates and we will send you a full costing for Amilla: holidays@360degreeworld.com.
