Exceptional
The reef rings the island with live hard coral, and you get to it directly, off a water villa terrace in some categories or off the beach in others. Guests report intact coral, anemones, blacktip reef sharks concentrated under one of the restaurants, green turtles, moray eels and, this summer, schooling mobula rays. There is a resident marine biologist running guided swims. This island has carried three brand names over the years, but the reef descriptions do not change across them: the operation changed, the reef did not. The far south came through the recent bleaching notably better than the central atolls.

The Halcyon Private Isles Maldives, Autograph Collection is two islands in Gaafu Alifu Atoll, far down in the south: a beach island and Ocean Pearl, a separate cluster of overwater villas. Every price on this page includes the domestic flight and speedboat from Malé, so the long journey south is already counted.
This is a spacious place built around its reef and its villas, with a 24-hour butler for every villa. It suits couples who want four nights or more and families who want two bedrooms rather than one.
What you pay
Pick your dates and a villa, and the price is the whole stay for two, every tax included. The two-bedroom villas and The Halcyon Grand Estate are priced for four and six.
Four nights is the shortest stay priced here. Each night after the fourth adds less than the average night of the package, since the flight and boat are paid only once.
The Oceanfront Beach Pool Villa is the entry point. The Beach Pool Villa and the Overwater Pool Villa are the same price as each other, and the sunset versions sit one step above.
You can split the stay, two nights on the beach and two over the water, for a little more than four nights in the Oceanfront villa.
What's included, and what isn't
In the price: your villa, breakfast and lunch daily at Thari, Yuzu or Fire Pit, the return domestic flight and speedboat, a 24-hour butler, one floating breakfast or private dinner, one group dolphin cruise or nurse shark trip, one guided snorkel on the house reef, snorkel gear, an hour of kayak or paddleboard, padel, wi-fi, bottled water, a short photoshoot with one print, and every Maldivian tax including green tax.
Two-bedroom villas add a daily minibar of snacks and soft drinks and a weekly snorkel with the marine biologist.
Not in the price: dinner, every drink, the seaplane, your international flights, travel insurance, Indian TCS, and anything not named above.
Who this isn't for
Anyone with three nights or fewer. The domestic flight is 55 minutes and the speedboat another 15, plus the wait for the connection, each way. Four nights is the shortest stay priced on this page.
Anyone who wants every meal covered. The plan gives you lunch, not dinner. Full board and all inclusive can be added, and we will price them for your dates.
Families with young children who want to sleep over the water. The resort advises against children under twelve in the overwater villas. Book a beach or family villa instead.

Honeymoon and anniversary extras come with every stay priced here: champagne, fruit, a bath ceremony, a floating breakfast and a massage on arrival, with a beach dinner added from seven nights. Honeymooners need a marriage certificate less than twelve months old.
Two children under sixteen stay and eat free from the kids' menu. Their flight, boat and green tax are added.
The domestic flight allows 20 kg of checked luggage each. Pack for that, not for your international airline.

Where is The Halcyon Private Isles Maldives?

How do I get there?
A 55-minute domestic flight from Malé to Kaadedhdhoo, then a 15-minute speedboat. Both are in the price on this page. The domestic flight allows 20 kg of checked luggage each. A seaplane of about 90 minutes is available at extra charge and flies in daylight only.
Which meals are included?
Breakfast and lunch daily at Thari, Yuzu or Fire Pit. Dinner and drinks are charged. Full board and all inclusive can be added for your dates. Vegetarian and Jain food is available throughout your stay.
Can children stay in the overwater villas?
The resort advises against children under twelve in the overwater villas, and asks parents who choose one to sign a waiver. For a family, the beach villas and the two-bedroom family villas are the better fit. Two children under sixteen stay and eat free from the kids' menu.
