Worth choosing the resort for. One or two caveats on entry point or current.
Iru Fushi's house reef runs between the main beach and the dive centre, close enough to swim to and shallow enough to enter from the sand. Guests report reef sharks, stingrays and a lot of colourful fish, though turtles are the thing people do not reliably see. The best water is off the Boli bridge by the water villas and The Trio, and behind the breakwater on the west side, so villa position matters more here than on most islands. Conditions turn choppy in the windier months. Tell us snorkelling is the priority and we will pick the villa number for you.

Land at Velana after 15:30 and the last transfer of the day will have gone, which means a night in Malé before you reach the island.
Seaplanes fly in daylight only, so an arrival after 15:30 means a night in Male. The resort has its own lounge at the seaplane terminal with drinks, a trial massage and showers, and aims to fly you out within three hours of check-in there. Flight details are needed ten days ahead to hold the seats. Anyone on an international flight leaving Male before 09:00 travels back the previous afternoon. Baggage is 20 kg checked plus 5 kg cabin.

192 sq m on the sand with a private pool, and the entry beach category. These 24 villas are the last in the refurbishment programme, so on September and October dates the price buys the pre-refurbishment room instead: 125 sq m and no pool. From November it is the rebuilt villa with its own pool.

Where is Sun Siyam Iru Fushi? +
Iru Fushi is a 52-acre private island in Noonu Atoll, in the north of the Maldives. It carries 221 villas across eleven sellable categories, from a 123 sq m overwater villa to a three-bedroom retreat, and every one of them has a private pool once the last beach villas come back from refurbishment.
How do I get to Iru Fushi? +
Fly into Velana International Airport in Male and take a 45-minute seaplane. Seaplanes fly in daylight only, so you need to land before 15:30 to reach the island the same afternoon. The resort has its own lounge at the seaplane terminal with drinks, light bites and showers, and aims to fly you out within three hours of checking in there.
What is included in the price shown? +
The whole villa for the nights on the dropdown, breakfast, return seaplane transfers and every Maldivian tax and service charge. Seven-night stays get the seaplane free and four-night stays get it at half price, which is why the dropdown starts at four nights. On the Retreats, where the price covers four or six adults, the seats beyond the first two are already in the figure. Indian TCS is the one thing added separately, on the total invoice value, and the current rate is on our Taxes and TCS page.
What meal plans are available? +
Bed and breakfast is what the price on this page is built on. Half board, full board and the Premium All-Inclusive are all available and we price them into your quote. Premium All-Inclusive adds premium spirits, wines and champagne by the glass across the outlets and the 24-hour Waters Edge bar. Teppanyaki sits outside every plan and Islander's Grill is half price rather than included.

Is Iru Fushi good for families? +
Yes, and the child policy is one of the most generous in the Maldives: up to two children under fifteen stay, eat and play free when sharing with you. Koamas Kidz Club takes ages three to eleven, there is a separate Teens Club for twelve to sixteen, and the main pool has its own children's area. The water villas are not recommended for young children because of the layout.
Does it work for couples if families are there too? +
It is designed that way. There is an adults-only infinity pool with its own bar, Reflections, for guests sixteen and over, plus overwater French and Italian restaurants and a champagne lounge. Honeymooners need a minimum of three nights and a marriage certificate dated within the past twelve months at check-in.
What has been renovated recently? +
The Water Villas were rebuilt inside and given pools and hammock decks, the Horizon and Sunset Horizon Water Villas gained L-shaped pools and sunken seating areas, thirty-four more beach villas were fitted with private pools, and the Deluxe Beach Villa interiors were reworked. Flavours and Bamboo were redesigned and the all-inclusive plan was upgraded to Premium.
Can we book Christmas or New Year? +
Not from the dropdown on this page. It runs to 22 December and picks up again on 15 April 2027, so 23 December to 14 April is not priced here. Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve at Iru Fushi carry compulsory gala dinners, regular menus and in-villa dining are withdrawn on those nights, and no check-out is permitted on 30 or 31 December. Ask us and we will price those dates individually.
