We price these villas on request. Ask about any of them and we send back the whole stay for your dates, with the seaplane and every tax inside the number, within 24 hours.
A real reef, reached without a boat. The coral garden starts a stone's throw from Chill Bar, and its ladder is the easiest way in. Guests report turtles, eagle rays, stingrays and reef sharks as regulars. The coral right in front of the bar was damaged by past warming and gets better a few minutes' swim further out. The lagoon is a separate experience: protected seagrass rather than white sand, with turtles feeding close to the water villas, so it suits a slow float as much as a reef swim. The resort's marine biologists run guided snorkels, so ask us for the times on your dates.

A 65-minute seaplane, daylight only, so land at Velana by 15:00 to arrive the same day. A domestic flight and speedboat runs on request for later flights; send us yours and we will check the route.

Six Senses Laamu sits on Olhuveli island in Laamu Atoll, in the south of the Maldives, 65 minutes from Velana by direct seaplane. That flight runs in daylight only, so your international arrival time decides whether you reach the island on the day you land.
It is a barefoot, low-key island with a surf programme, its own dive centre and resident marine biologists. The lagoon is deliberately left as seagrass, and turtles feed in it close to the water villas. Villas sit either over the water along the jetties or on the beach with a private pool, some with a deck at treetop level.
From 6 December 2026, Six Senses Laamu opens 17 rebuilt overwater villas in four new categories: the Ocean, Laamu and Horizon Water Villa Suites with Pool, at 149 square metres, and the Family Water Villa with Pool, at 167 square metres for up to five guests. Each has an 18 square metre private pool at the edge of the deck, a hammock over the water, a bathtub facing the sea and an upper deck. The Family Water Villa is the resort's first overwater villa for families, with a separate children's bedroom and its own bathroom.
The new suites sit alongside the existing water and beach villas, which are still on sale. The resort says this is the first stage of a refresh that will run over the next few years, so ask us what is happening on the island on your dates.
Prices for Six Senses Laamu are not shown on this page yet. Tell us your dates and who is travelling, and we will price the villa, the meal plan and the return seaplane together, with every Maldivian tax inside one figure.
The villa and your dates move the price more than anything else. Tell us whether a private pool matters to you, and we will show you the difference between the water villas with and without one before you choose.
In the price we quote: your villa, the meal plan you choose, the return seaplane from Velana and every Maldivian tax. Ice cream and sorbet at the Ice & Chocolate Studio are free, and so is The Den, the kids' club, for children from 3 to 12.
Not in the price: your international flights, travel insurance, Indian TCS, babysitting, and anything not named above.
Short trips with a late arrival. The seaplane flies only by day, so land at Velana after 15:00 and you either spend the first night in Malé or take the domestic flight and speedboat, which runs on request. On a three-night stay that is a large share of the holiday.
Anyone who wants a white-sand lagoon all the way round. Six Senses Laamu keeps its seagrass, so the water off the beach is green in places. That is why the turtles are here, but it is not the postcard lagoon. Families of four should skip the standard water villas, which are tight for more than two, and take a family villa instead: the Family Beach Villas with Pool on the beach, or from 6 December 2026 the Family Water Villa with Pool over the water.
Book an arrival into Velana that lands by 15:00 and a flight home that leaves no earlier than 09:30, so both seaplane legs connect. Tell us if anyone surfs: Tropicsurf takes surfers by boat to the breaks around the atoll, and beginners can learn. Deep Blue Divers runs dives and courses, and the marine biologists run guided snorkels, so ask us for the times on your dates.

Six Senses Laamu is on Olhuveli island in Laamu Atoll, in the south of the Maldives, about 65 minutes by seaplane from Velana International Airport. The resort keeps its seagrass meadow rather than clearing it, so the lagoon is green in places rather than white sand, and turtles feed in it close to the water villas.
By direct seaplane from Velana International Airport, about 65 minutes. Seaplanes fly in daylight only, so land at Velana by 15:00 to reach Six Senses Laamu the same day, and book your flight home to leave no earlier than 09:30. For flights that do not fit the seaplane, a domestic flight to Kadhdhoo, the airport in Laamu Atoll, and then a speedboat is available on request. Send us your flights and we will check the route.
Fifteen villas are shown on this page. Over the water are the Lagoon, Ocean, Laamu and Sunset Laamu Water Villas at 108 square metres, and the Ocean, Laamu and Sunset Laamu Water Villas with Pool at 126 square metres. From 6 December 2026 they are joined by the new Ocean, Laamu and Horizon Water Villa Suites with Pool at 149 square metres, and the Family Water Villa with Pool at 167 square metres. On the beach are the Lagoon and Ocean Beach Villas with Pool at 238 square metres, and two family beach villas at 253 square metres. The two-bedroom beach villas and The Retreat are not shown here, but we can price them.

The coral right in front of the bar was damaged by past warming and gets better a few minutes' swim further out. Yes, with the right villa. The Den, the kids' club, is free and takes children from 3 to 12, and babysitting is available at a charge. The family beach villas add a separate children's bedroom, and from 6 December 2026 the new Family Water Villa with Pool does the same over the water, with its own bathroom for the children and room for five. The standard water villas are tight for more than two. Tell us the ages of everyone travelling and we will match the villa to them.
Longitude is the main restaurant, open-air, with the breakfast buffet and themed dinners. Leaf, for adults only, cooks Mediterranean food from the resort's organic gardens. Zen serves Japanese fusion, Kaji is the teppanyaki counter, and Sip Sip, by the pool, does pizzas, grills and pasta. Chill Bar sits over the water beside the house reef. The Ice & Chocolate Studio serves free ice cream and sorbet, and Altitude, the wine cellar, hosts dinners with paired wines.
Yes. Tropicsurf runs the surf programme, taking surfers by boat to the breaks around Laamu Atoll, and beginners can learn too. Deep Blue Divers, the resort's own dive centre, runs dives and certification courses. Tell us what you want to surf or dive and we will check it fits your dates.
Tell us your dates, your flight times and who is travelling, on WhatsApp at +91 98112 03263 or through the enquiry form. We will check the seaplane connection and send you two or three villas for your dates, with the transfer and every Maldivian tax inside the price. We reply within 24 hours.
