Deluxe Family Room with Balcony
Royal Villa Fulidhoo · Fulidhoo, Vaavu Atoll
The last speedboat of the day leaves at 15:00. Allow an hour to clear the airport, so land well before then or plan a night in Malé before you reach the island.
A shared speedboat on a timetable, not a private boat. It leaves Malé at 10:00, 12:00 and 16:00, and on Fridays at 09:30 and 16:00 only. Coming back, it leaves Fulidhoo at 06:30 and 13:30, so plan your return flight around those.

Royal Villa Fulidhoo stands on an island where Maldivians live and work, so the island's rules apply to everyone staying there.
No alcohol. It is not sold or served anywhere on an inhabited island. Swimwear on the tourist beach. In the village, cover shoulders and knees. Friday is the day off. Shops close for prayers and fewer boats run, so check your transfer times if you arrive or leave on a Friday.
Ask us about any of this before you book. We would rather you knew now than on the jetty.
Royal Villa is a hotel on Fulidhoo, a local island in Vaavu Atoll, about an hour and ten minutes from Malé by shared speedboat. It suits travellers who want a smaller, quieter island and do not mind a longer boat ride. Every price includes the room, breakfast or half board, the return shared speedboat and every tax, green tax included.
There are three rooms. The Standard Room with a window is the cheapest. The Deluxe Island View with a balcony costs about a tenth more, and the Deluxe Family Room, which sleeps three, about a quarter more.
The speedboat is a large share of the price here, because Fulidhoo is further out than Maafushi or Gulhi. That is why a short stay costs more per night than the room alone suggests; four or five nights spread it better.
Half board adds dinner and puts about a quarter on a three-night stay.
October is the cheapest window. From November to April the same room costs about a tenth more.
Anyone short of time. The boat schedule is thin and the journey is long, so this is not an island for two nights.
Anyone who wants a drink: no alcohol is served on Fulidhoo. Christmas and New Year carry compulsory gala dinners and are priced separately.
The shared speedboat leaves Malé at 10:00, 12:00 and 16:00, and on Fridays at 09:30 and 16:00 only. Land by about 15:00. Coming back it leaves Fulidhoo at 06:30 and 13:30, so book an afternoon or evening flight home.
A private boat can be arranged and is charged on top. Check-in is at 14:00 and check-out at 12:00.
Send us your dates and both flight times. We will work out which boats you can catch and come back within 24 hours with one price for the stay.
