Staying on a local island
Rashu Hiyaa Dhiffushi stands on an island where Maldivians live and work, so the island's rules apply to everyone staying there.
No alcohol. It is not sold or served anywhere on an inhabited island. Swimwear on the tourist beach. In the village, cover shoulders and knees. Friday is the day off. Shops close for prayers and fewer boats run, so check your transfer times if you arrive or leave on a Friday.
Ask us about any of this before you book. We would rather you knew now than on the jetty.
About the hotel
Rashu Hiyaa is a hotel on Dhiffushi, a local island in North Malé Atoll about 45 minutes from the airport by shared speedboat. It has six room types, from island-view rooms to a panoramic sea view. Every price includes the room, breakfast or half board, the return shared speedboat and every tax, green tax included.
What this actually costs
The Deluxe Island View Room is the cheapest. The Superior Room, with a bathtub, costs a little under a tenth more, and the Deluxe Beach View about a sixth more. The Deluxe Plus rooms run from about a quarter more for the island view to half as much again for the panoramic sea view.
Half board adds dinner and puts about a quarter on a three-night stay.

Who this isn’t for
Anyone who wants a drink. Dhiffushi is an inhabited island and no alcohol is served on it.
Anyone who wants to hop between guest-house islands: Dhiffushi is north of the airport, away from the Maafushi and Gulhi cluster.
Before you book
Someone meets you at the arrivals gate for the shared speedboat. The crossing takes about 45 minutes; tell us your flight and we will confirm the boat.
Check-in is at 14:00 and check-out at 12:00.
