Fine
The fish here gather at one point, off the snorkelling centre, and that is where to get in. The lagoon around the overwater villas is clear and sandy but holds little life. At the snorkelling point guests find dense fish, with turtles and reef sharks seen, and boat trips go out for dolphins and turtles. Snorkellers who swim wider have been asked to come back closer to shore, so this is not an island you circle freely. Some villas have far easier sandy entry than others, so ask us which sit nearest the snorkelling point. Snorkel gear is in the price.

About the resort
Kuredhivaru Resort & Spa Maldives has its own island in Noonu Atoll, about 45 minutes north of Velana by seaplane, and every villa you can book here has a private pool. There are five to choose from: three over the lagoon and two on the beach.
It is a large, green island with plenty going on: a kids' club, two main pools, a spa, a dive and watersports centre, tennis and daily group yoga, and four places to eat. It used to trade as Mövenpick Resort Kuredhivaru, so older guest reviews still use that name.
What you pay
Every price on this page is for two adults sharing, for three or four nights, with the return seaplane and every Maldivian tax inside it. Pick your dates above, then choose deluxe half board or basic all inclusive.
The overwater villas are the easier way in. The two beach pool villas are larger, 190 square metres against 140, and dearer. Basic all inclusive adds between a tenth and a seventh to the stay, the larger share on the overwater villas.
The fourth night adds noticeably less than each of the first three, because the seaplane is already paid for. The Christmas and New Year weeks are not priced on this page. Pick those dates and they come through to us ready to price.
What's included, and what isn't
In the price: your villa, the return seaplane, a resort host at Velana and the TMA VIP lounge at the seaplane terminal, deluxe half board with a choice of restaurants or basic all inclusive, water, soft drinks, juices, tea and coffee at meals, one floating breakfast, a 30-minute massage for each adult, the afternoon chocolate hour, snorkel gear, non-motorised water sports, the gym, tennis, yoga and every Maldivian tax.
Not in the price: the glass kayak and water bicycle, motorised water sports, diving, boat excursions, spa treatments beyond the included massage, your international flights, travel insurance, Indian TCS, and anything not named above.
Who this isn't for
Anyone who wants a hushed, adults-only island. Kuredhivaru Resort & Spa Maldives has a kids' club, a weekly theme night and live music, and it feels lively in the evenings.
It is not the island for keen snorkellers who want to swim off their own deck onto coral. The fish gather at one point off the island, and the best of the reef is reached by boat. And because the seaplane flies in daylight only, a late landing at Velana usually means a night in Malé first.
