Staying on a local island
KUE Hotel Maafushi stands on an island where Maldivians live and work, so the island's rules apply to everyone staying there.
No alcohol. It is not sold or served anywhere on an inhabited island. Swimwear on the tourist beach. In the village, cover shoulders and knees. Friday is the day off. Shops close for prayers and fewer boats run, so check your transfer times if you arrive or leave on a Friday.
Ask us about any of this before you book. We would rather you knew now than on the jetty.
About the hotel
KUE Hotel is a small hotel on Maafushi with four room types, from an 18 square metre double to a family room for four. It suits couples and small families who want a plain base for excursions. We price KUE on request, with your meal plan, the shared speedboat and every tax in one figure.
What this actually costs
The Deluxe Room has a queen bed and no balcony. The Deluxe Room with a balcony is the same size with outdoor space, and the Suite adds a sofa bed in 25 square metres. The Family Room with a balcony sleeps four.
Children under two stay free, and children aged two to five stay free in your bed. Older children are charged a nightly supplement.
Rates change with the season, lowest from May to October. Send us your dates and we price them with breakfast or half board, as you prefer.
Who this isn’t for
Anyone who wants a drink. Maafushi is an inhabited island and no alcohol is served on it.
Before you book
The shared speedboat runs from Malé to Maafushi; tell us your flight and we will confirm the boat. Check-in is at 14:00 and check-out is early, at 11:00. Christmas and New Year carry compulsory gala dinners.
