The last speedboat of the day leaves at 17:00. Allow an hour to clear the airport, so land well before then or plan a night in Malé before you reach the island.

Staying on a local island
Kaani Beach Hotel Maafushi stands on an island where Maldivians live and work, so the island's rules apply to everyone staying there.
No alcohol. It is not sold or served anywhere on an inhabited island. Swimwear on the tourist beach. In the village, cover shoulders and knees. Friday is the day off. Shops close for prayers and fewer boats run, so check your transfer times if you arrive or leave on a Friday.
Ask us about any of this before you book. We would rather you knew now than on the jetty.
About the hotel
Kaani Beach Hotel is the least expensive of the four Kaani hotels on Maafushi. It suits couples who would rather spend on excursions than on the room. Every price includes the room, breakfast or half board, the return shared speedboat and every tax, green tax included.
What this actually costs
The Deluxe Double Room is the cheapest. Adding a balcony costs about a tenth more, and the Deluxe Triple with a balcony, which takes a third person, nearly a third more than the double. Prices shown are for two.
Half board adds dinner and puts about forty percent on a three-night stay in the cheapest room. With cafés all around, breakfast only usually makes more sense.
October is the cheapest window. From January to April the same room costs about a fifth more, falls back from May to October, and rises again from November. November and December this year are not on the dropdown, and neither is Christmas or New Year. We can still price those dates for you; ask.
Who this isn’t for
Anyone who wants a drink. Maafushi is an inhabited island and no alcohol is served on it. It is also busy, with several Kaani hotels and many other guest houses close together.
If you want a pool, look at Kaani Village & Spa or Kaani Palm Beach instead.
Before you book
The shared speedboat leaves Velana at 09:15, 11:00, 13:30, 15:00 and 18:00 and takes about 35 minutes. Someone from the hotel meets you at its desk in the arrivals hall. Land by about 17:00 or plan a night in Malé first.
Check-in is at 14:00 and check-out at 12:00. Christmas and New Year carry compulsory gala dinners.
