Amazing experience!

As a Marriott Titanium Elite member, JW Marriott Maldives stands out as the absolute best property for Marriott Bonvoy point redemptions. We were upgraded to a duplex two-storey overwater villa — perfect for our family of four. Our butlers Malla and Gappe arranged everything flawlessly, including an unforgettable surprise for our son's 18th birthday. The breakfast spread at Aailaa was absolutely phenomenal. Every staff member treats guests like family. We left incredibly reluctant to go.

A stay I'll be thinking about for a long time

I spent 4 nights in a Sunset Beach Pool Villa — one of those trips you keep thinking about weeks later. From the moment I got off the seaplane, everyone knew my name and remembered my food allergy without me mentioning it. Kseniia and Rameez were exceptional butlers. Chef Froosh made Venezuelan-style empanadas for me — one of those emotional moments when you're far from home. The Spa was a highlight too. Stunning resort, incredible villas, great food, and service that actually feels personal.

The main restaurant tasted fine with a wide variety of dishes. The gym faces the sea and the Spa environment is excellent — great service with ocean views. The house reef had plenty of fish visible from the restaurant deck, including baby sharks at breakfast. The overwater villa views were spectacular. A memorable Maldives experience overall.

JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa is on Vagaru Island in Shaviyani Atoll, 55 minutes north of Velana by seaplane. All 60 villas have a private pool and butler service, and the island suits families as much as couples.

The family offer is the strongest thing on this page. Children under sixteen stay free and eat from the kids' menu, and a child aged two to eleven adds only their seaplane seat and green tax, ₹47,700 for the four nights.

What you pay

Pick your dates, a villa and a meal plan, and the price is four nights for two: the villa, your meals, the return shared seaplane and every Maldivian tax, green tax included. The 2-Bedroom Duplex Beach Pool Villa is priced for two adults and two children, seaplane seats for all four included.

October to mid-December is the gentle stretch. Four nights in a Beach Pool Villa Sunrise on half board from 1 October to 17 December come to ₹520,100, and the Overwater Pool Villa Sunrise is barely more.

In January, go over the water. From 10 January the Overwater Pool Villa Sunrise dips below the beach villa, at ₹639,900 for the same four nights.

Full board adds lunch, and all inclusive adds a list of drinks on top. Half board suits light drinkers, and the price difference is shown for every villa above.

What's included, and what isn't

In the price: your villa with its private pool, breakfast plus lunch or dinner on half board, all three meals on full board, meals and a set list of drinks on all inclusive, the return shared seaplane, butler service, bicycles, snorkel gear and the non-motorised water sports, Wi-Fi, and every Maldivian tax including green tax.

Not in the price: your international flights, travel insurance, drinks on half and full board, drinks outside the all-inclusive list, the spa, diving and excursions, Indian TCS, and anything not named above.

Who this isn't for

Anyone landing at Velana after 15:00. The seaplane flies in daylight only, so a late arrival means a night in Malé and a paid night on the island lost.

Anyone expecting an open bar. All inclusive here is a drinks allowance: by the glass rather than the bottle apart from beer, soft drinks and water, nothing taken back to the villa, and no buying rounds for guests who are not on the plan.

Short trips. Four nights is the stay priced on this page. Longer stays are easy to add, so ask us.

Before you book

Book by 31 October 2026. These prices are for new bookings only and run from 1 October 2026 to 30 March 2027. They combine with the honeymoon, repeat guest and long stay benefits.

For Diwali, book by 30 September. Stay between 25 October and 15 November and the resort moves you up one villa category.

18 December to 9 January is not priced on this page. The Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve gala dinners are compulsory, nobody checks out from 31 December to 2 January, and the beach villas need seven nights. We can still book it.

Teenagers pay the adult seaplane fare from their twelfth birthday, though they still stay and eat free. Parents sign a disclaimer for children under twelve in the overwater villas. Ask us for the cancellation and payment terms on your dates before you pay.

House reef 3/5 Fine

You will enjoy it. You would not cross an atoll for it.

Which side of the island you sleep on decides this one. The sunrise side works: swim out past the barrier rocks and guests report blacktips, green turtles, eagle rays, nurse sharks and octopus, although it takes some nerve the first time. There is a second entry in front of the Thai restaurant. The lagoon side is rubble, and a steady stream of guests report seeing nothing at all. The passage between the breakwaters drops to about forty centimetres at low water over sharp coral, and the current runs hard at times. Ask us for a sunrise villa if the reef matters.
