JOALI BEING

Bodufushi Island · Raa Atoll · A wellbeing island for adults

A Well-Living Island, Not a Resort With a Spa

Sixty-eight villas on Bodufushi, built around mind, skin, microbiome and energy.

Thirty-Seven Treatment Rooms

AREKA holds the wellbeing halls, including CORE, which the resort states is the largest fitness centre in the Maldives. Both are for guests aged 12 and over.

Seventy-Two Teas, Sixteen Countries

SAI Tea Lounge runs ceremonies, tastings and workshops with a Tea Master and Sommelier. It is the thing guests talk about afterwards.

Adults Only, Almost Always

Designed as an adults-only retreat. Children under twelve are welcomed only during the scheduled JOY of BEING Kids Retreat periods.

Forty Minutes by Seaplane

Seaplanes fly in daylight only. Land at Velana after 15:30 and the resort recommends a night near the airport before flying out next morning.

Double occupancy, half board, return shared seaplane transfers and green tax included · book by 10 Oct 2026 · stays 11 Oct to 20 Dec 2026

This is a well-living island rather than a resort with a spa, organised around four pillars: mind, skin, microbiome and energy. Three nights in an Ocean Pool Villa is ₹873,600 for two, with half board, the return shared seaplane and green tax inside the number.

Bodufushi, Raa Atoll, 40 minutes by seaplane. Sixty-eight villas, every one with a private pool and a Jadugar butler. Stays run 11 October to 20 December, and booking closes 10 October 2026.

What this actually costs

Prices above are the whole stay for two adults: the villa and its pool, daily half board, the return shared seaplane, green tax and the butler. Lunch is charged. Flights to Malé are not included, and we confirm the final figure with the resort before you pay anything.

  • Length of stay moves the needle more than the villa does. About ₹236,300 of every price is the seaplane, and you pay it once, on a three-night stay and on a ten-night one alike. Three nights in an Ocean Pool Villa works out at ₹291,200 a night, seven nights at ₹238,300. That is 18% less for the same villa.
  • The sunset upgrade is nearly free. Sunset Ocean Pool costs ₹10,400 more than the standard Ocean Pool Villa over three nights. There are only four of them against ten standard, so the constraint is availability, not money. Ask early.
  • Beach Pool and Sunset Grand Ocean Pool cost the same to the rupee, at every length. A 503 m² beach plot against a 230 m² overwater deck facing the sunset. Same money, opposite holiday.
  • Two bedrooms buy togetherness, not a discount. Two couples in a Two Bedroom Ocean Pool Villa is about ₹2,338,900 for three nights. Two separate Ocean Pool Villas cost ₹1,747,200.

Not on the dropdown: a third adult is ₹219,600 for three nights, and that figure already covers their seaplane seat.

Who this isn’t for

Families with children under twelve, outside the resort’s scheduled Kids Retreat periods. AREKA and CORE, the wellbeing and fitness halls, are for guests aged twelve and over whatever your dates.

Occupancy binds harder than price here. The Ocean, Sunset Ocean and Beach Pool villas take two adults and one child only; a second child means a Grand category. Children are priced from age six and nothing is published for two to five year olds, so tell us the party before you pick a villa. Drones are not permitted anywhere on the island.

Before you book

  • Booking closes 10 October 2026 and stays must fall between 11 October and 20 December. Three nights minimum. New bookings only. It stacks with the Repeater, Honeymoon, Anniversary and Kids benefits, and with nothing else.
  • Seaplanes fly in daylight only. An arrival into Velana after 15:30 means a night near the airport before you reach the island. Send us your flights before you book them.
  • Three nights is barely a consultation and two treatments. If you are coming for the reset rather than the photograph, five is the floor.
  • There is no wi-fi in the AREKA wellbeing zone, by design.

Tell us your dates and how long you can stay, and we will come back with a transfer-inclusive costing, the villa availability picture, which matters more here than price on the sunset categories, and a confirmed final figure from the resort before you commit. Message our Maldives specialists on WhatsApp or send us an enquiry.

House reef 5/5 Exceptional

Live coral within swimming distance of the beach, reliably good fish life, safe entry.

You can swim the whole island, and most guests who have done several Maldives trips rate this reef in their top tier: big shoals, a resident turtle, eagle rays, blacktips. Water villas sit on the reef itself. Coral cover is patchy rather than uniform, so you are going for fish density, not a coral garden. Give the arrival jetties a wide berth, there is boat traffic.

Where in the Maldives

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is JOALI BEING? +
On Bodufushi, a small island in Raa Atoll, 40 to 45 minutes north of Malé by seaplane. Its sister resort, JOALI Maldives, is in the same atoll.
How do I get there? +
By seaplane from Velana International Airport, using JOALI’s own airport lounge. Seaplanes operate in daylight hours only, so the resort recommends that anyone landing after 15:30 stays near the airport overnight and flies out the following morning. A speedboat or yacht is possible but takes six to eight hours, so it is not a realistic option.
Is it adults only? +
It is designed as an adults-only retreat, and children under twelve are welcomed only during the scheduled JOY of BEING Kids Retreat periods. Separately, AREKA and CORE, the wellbeing and fitness halls, are for guests aged twelve and over at all times. B’Kidult is the multi-generational space younger guests use.
How many villas are there, and what sizes? +
Sixty-eight villas and residences. Ocean and Sunset Ocean Pool Villas are 87 m² indoors in a 260 m² footprint. The Grand categories are 92 m² indoors but on a smaller 230 m² plot, so Grand buys interior space rather than garden. Beach Pool Villas are 93 m² on 503 m², and Grand Beach Pool Villas 106 m² on 646 m². Above these sit two-bedroom villas, wellbeing residences and a four-bedroom at 491 m² indoors.
We are two adults and two children. Which villa? +
A Grand category. The Ocean Pool Villa, Sunset Ocean Pool Villa and Beach Pool Villa each take two adults and one child only. Grand Ocean, Sunset Grand Ocean and Grand Beach Pool villas take two children, and above those are two-bedroom villas and residences. This is subject to the Kids Retreat dates.
Where can I eat? +
FLOW is an open-plan space with three kitchens: SU for pescatarian, Plantae for vegetarian and vegan, and B’Well for meat and poultry. Yutori is the Japanese restaurant. MOJO serves global plates at lunch and Mediterranean at dinner, with MOJO Bar alongside. SAI Tea Lounge pours 72 teas from 16 countries with a resident Tea Master and Sommelier.
What does the wellbeing programme cover? +
It is organised around four pillars: mind, skin, microbiome and energy. On arrival a personal consultant shapes the stay with you. AREKA holds 37 treatment rooms and transformational spaces, including CORE for movement and fitness, KAASHI for hydrotherapy and sauna, SEDA for sound therapy with an outdoor Discovery Sound Path, and AKTAR, a herbology centre.
Anything else worth knowing? +
There is no wi-fi inside the wellbeing zone, by design. Drones are not permitted anywhere on the island. There are floodlit tennis and padel courts, chartered yacht and dhoni excursions, and DJ nights. Every guest gets a named bicycle.
