We went to Fushifaru in July 2025. Marvellous views, wonderful accommodation, delicious food & drinks, but most importantly, warm & attentive staff. A true paradise! We feel so welcomed and taken care of everywhere we go in the resort. At the main restaurant, we had Mona attending us so professionally, made us feel happy, as well as all the waiting staff. Suresh welcomed us so warmly everytime we entered the restaurant. The chef, Ali, was often there to check on the food. He even made us a special dish for my husband's birthday, was so touching. Santy, Renaa, Shreepal & Vishnu always took great care of us at the bars. We always felt so welcomed by them and the rest of the team. Iqbal always pampered us with beautiful flowers. Last but not least, the wonderful musicians, Sarah & Jun, always gave us good times, great music and company, making staying at this paradise even more pleasant. Thanks to the whole team of Fushifaru who attended us while we were there, also the ones whose names weren't mentioned. All of you made our vacation truly magical.

A wonderful stay at Fushifaru

From the moment we were greeted at Male airport it was clear that our whole stay at the beautiful island of Fushifaru would be memorable and enjoyable. Our host Jen met us on arrival to the island and looked after us throughout our stay, she was there for our departure too which was very thoughtful, everything was streamlined and easy. All of the staff from housekeeping to hospitality were genuinely warm and attentive making our stay really enjoyable and relaxing. The Island is very safe with lots of activities available should you need them. The food incredible and the bar staff professional and fun. Highly recommend this Island and the whole experience. We will definitely go back.

Good.

The island is quiet and the people are warm. Carefully selected honeymoon island, the result of continuous cloudy days affect mentality, but fortunately there will be a period of no rain each day to produce films. The island is small, so the place is within walking distance. Three meals a day directly known as the Dry Island. Pineapple juice is delicious, and a non-alcoholic cocktail in the little bar is delicious!! The teppanyaki master is kind of funny, butler Chelsea is responsible — no matter what, he says he'll try to satisfy! In short, it was cloudy but did not affect the mood. Chased the dolphins on the last day as expected! And it was a large, very large number of dolphins — really lucky and brought our honeymoon to a successful conclusion. We'll be back again soon!

Fuji Faro, Maldives | It's not just sunny. Rainy days heal too.

Before I came to Maldives, my heart was filled with the imagination of blue skies and white clouds and clear seas. As a result, in the last few days of Fushifaru, it hit its truest form during the rainy season. There's no clear skies for the whole thing, lots of cloudy days, showers, gentle sea breezes. It's a little unfortunate at first, for fear of not being able to take a good view, for fear of getting your trip delayed. But slowly, it became clear that the rainy Maldives was hiding a different tenderness. The butler was patient, the restaurant had a different dinner every day. It felt like the Chinese stomach was also very adaptable, overall it was good.

Fushifaru Maldives

Price on enquiry Rates move with season, villa and meal plan. Send us the dates and we'll come back with a full costing, transfers included, within 24 hours.

Fushifaru is small. Sixty-three villas on an island at the north-eastern edge of Lhaviyani Atoll, 35 minutes by seaplane from Velana International Airport. There is one all-day restaurant, a grill, a teppanyaki counter and two bars. If you want eight dining venues and a nightclub, this is the wrong island. If you want to walk from your villa to one of the best dive channels in the country, it is the right one.

The setting

The island sits beside Fushifaru Kan'du, a national Marine Protected Area. Three dive sites lie inside it, including Fushifaru Thila and a marine cleaning station where manta rays queue to be worked over by wrasse. Sunrise villas look east across Maakandu and the open Indian Ocean. Sunset villas look west over Etherevari, the calm lagoon. The water villas sit on Kanduolhi, the channel itself.

The villas

Forty-four beach villas and nineteen water villas, in nine categories. Every villa has a king bed, an indoor daybed, a garden bathroom with a bath, indoor and outdoor showers, a private veranda and outdoor sun loungers. Island-wide wifi is included.

Category Number Size
Beach Villa Sunrise 3 96 m²
Beach Villa Sunset 15 96 m²
Pool Beach Villa Sunrise 10 122 m²
Pool Beach Villa Sunset 10 122 m²
Beach Duplex Villa (2 bedrooms) 2 240 m²
Premium Beach Duplex Villa (2 bedrooms) 1 250 m²
Jacuzzi Water Villa 11 96 m²
Pool Water Villa 4 122 m²
Premium Pool Water Villa 4 122 m²

Sunset beach villas outnumber sunrise ones five to one, so the west-facing side books out first. A personal Resident Host is assigned to every villa.

What the rate covers

We quote Fushifaru on half board: breakfast and dinner. Lunch, drinks and the destination dining experiences are charged as you go. Seaplane transfers are quoted separately and depend on the season, so ask us rather than assuming.

Seaplanes fly in daylight only. An arrival into Malé after about 16:00 means a night in the city before you reach the island, which is worth planning around when you book flights.

Eating

Korakali is the all-day restaurant, with a different theme each evening. Raakani grills seafood and meat on the beach. There is a teppanyaki counter with a live show. Fanihandhi Bar holds the infinity pool and the best sunset view on the island. Thundi is a beach bar for ice cream and smoothies, with live music at sunset on some evenings. In-villa dining runs 24 hours.

Beyond the restaurants, the resort will set up dinner on a sandbank, on the Handhu platform, in your own pool, or on a quiet stretch of beach. These are booked and charged on the island.

Under the water

This is the reason most people come. The Marine Protected Area is a few minutes away by boat and the house reef is strong enough to snorkel straight from the beach. Manta season on the cleaning station is the draw, and the thila is a serious dive rather than a gentle drift.

Families and wellness

The Kokko Kids Club takes younger guests, and the two duplex villas at 240 and 250 m² give families two bedrooms rather than a sofa bed. Heylhi Spa has five treatment pavilions built as Maldivian cottages, with an outdoor shower and bathtub each, plus a sauna, plunge pool, salon and Ayurvedic treatments. There is a gym over the water and a multi-sports court.

Who it suits

Divers and snorkellers first. Couples who want a quiet island and would rather spend the difference on a pool villa than on a bigger resort. Families who need two proper bedrooms. It suits a four to seven night stay.

Who it does not

Anyone who wants variety in restaurants, a spread of bars, or a resort large enough to disappear into. Anyone who needs a speedboat transfer, since the only route is a seaplane in daylight hours. Anyone booking on all-inclusive, which is not how we sell this island.

Where in the Maldives

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Fushifaru Maldives? +
Fushifaru sits on the north-eastern border of Faadhippolhu Atoll, better known as Lhaviyani Atoll. It is a small island beside Fushifaru Kan'du, a national Marine Protected Area.
How do I get to Fushifaru? +
By seaplane from Velana International Airport, a flight of about 35 minutes. Seaplanes operate in daylight hours only, so an international arrival into Malé after roughly 16:00 will mean an overnight stay in the city before you continue to the island. We can arrange that if your flights make it necessary.
How many villas does Fushifaru have? +
Sixty-three, across nine categories. Forty-four are beach villas and nineteen are water villas, ranging from 96 m² up to the 250 m² Premium Beach Duplex. Every villa is assigned a personal Resident Host.
What is the difference between sunrise and sunset villas? +
Sunrise villas sit on the eastern side facing Maakandu, the open Indian Ocean. Sunset villas sit on the western side facing Etherevari, the calm lagoon. Water villas face Kanduolhi, the channel. There are five times as many sunset beach villas as sunrise ones, so the sunrise category is the scarcer of the two.
What meal plan do you sell? +
We quote Fushifaru on half board, which covers breakfast and dinner. Lunch, drinks and the destination dining experiences are settled on the island. Ask us if you would prefer a different plan and we will price it.
What is the diving like? +
This is the main reason people choose Fushifaru. The resort sits beside a national Marine Protected Area containing three dive sites, including Fushifaru Thila and a marine cleaning station where manta rays gather. The house reef is strong enough to snorkel directly from the beach.
Where can I eat on the island? +
Korakali is the all-day restaurant with a different theme each evening. Raakani grills seafood and meat on the beach. There is a teppanyaki counter with a live show, Fanihandhi Bar beside the infinity pool, and Thundi, a beach bar for ice cream and smoothies. In-villa dining runs 24 hours.
Is Fushifaru suitable for families? +
Yes. The Kokko Kids Club runs activities for younger guests, and the two duplex villas at 240 and 250 m² give families two separate bedrooms rather than an extra bed in one room.
What is there to do besides diving? +
Heylhi Spa has five treatment pavilions, a sauna, a plunge pool, a salon and Ayurvedic treatments. There is a gym overlooking the ocean, a multi-sports court, and a full watersports centre. The resort also runs sandbank picnics, sunset dhoni cruises and Maldivian Malaafaiy feasts.
How do I check rates and availability? +
Tap Enquire Now on any villa above, or message our Maldives specialists on WhatsApp at +91 98112 03263. We reply within 24 hours with current rates, availability and transfer costs.
