Worth choosing the resort for. One or two caveats on entry point or current.
The reef wraps the whole island with four marked ways in and a gentle slope down to about thirty metres, so you can circle it rather than working one stretch. Grey reef sharks, nurse sharks, eagle rays and turtles are all reported, and the east wall is where the marine life concentrates. That wall is also where the current runs, so it suits confident swimmers. The coral was damaged by bleaching a decade ago and how far it has come back is the open question here. Unusually for the Maldives, visibility is better in the wetter months.
