Staying on a local island
Cozy Roots Fuvahmulah stands on an island where Maldivians live and work, so the island's rules apply to everyone staying there.
No alcohol. It is not sold or served anywhere on an inhabited island. Swimwear on the tourist beach. In the village, cover shoulders and knees. Friday is the day off. Shops close for prayers and fewer boats run, so check your transfer times if you arrive or leave on a Friday.

About the hotel
Cozy Roots Fuvahmulah is an eleven-room hotel on Fuvahmulah, the one-island atoll in the far south of the Maldives, with an infinity pool and sun deck on its roof. Breakfast and the pickup from Fuvahmulah airport come with every stay.
It suits divers and couples who want a simple, clean room and a pool to come back to. Fuvahmulah is best known for tiger sharks, seen by divers all year round, and the hotel is a short walk from town.
What you pay
We price Cozy Roots Fuvahmulah on request. Send us your dates and who is travelling, and we will come back with one figure for the room, breakfast and the domestic flight from Malé.
There are two room types, both about 14.5 square metres. The Double Bedroom has one double bed for couples. The Twin Bed Room has two single beds, for friends or family sharing. Rooms sleep two.
What's included, and what isn't
In the price: your room, breakfast daily, the pickup and drop at Fuvahmulah airport, use of the rooftop pool and deck, and every Maldivian tax.
Not in the price: your international flights, travel insurance, Indian TCS, lunch and dinner, diving and other excursions, and anything not named above.
Who this isn't for
Anyone who wants a drink. Fuvahmulah is an inhabited island and no alcohol is served on it.
Anyone who wants space. The rooms are compact, and the pool on the roof is where you spread out.
Short trips. Fuvahmulah is a domestic flight from Malé, so three nights leaves little time once you have flown in and out.
Before you book
The domestic flight from Velana to Fuvahmulah takes about an hour. Tell us when you land in Malé and we will match the flight to it, or arrange a night in Malé if you land late.
Rooms have air-conditioning, a private bathroom, Wi-Fi, a mini fridge and a safe. The hotel arranges scuba diving, fishing, surfing and island tours.
Check-in is at 14:00 and check-out at 12:00.
