Staying on a local island
Cozy Nest Fuvahmulah stands on an island where Maldivians live and work, so the island's rules apply to everyone staying there.
No alcohol. It is not sold or served anywhere on an inhabited island. Swimwear on the tourist beach. In the village, cover shoulders and knees. Friday is the day off. Shops close for prayers and fewer boats run, so check your transfer times if you arrive or leave on a Friday.

About the hotel
Cozy Nest Fuvahmulah is an eighteen-room hotel a short walk from the town centre on Fuvahmulah, the one-island atoll in the far south of the Maldives. The island is best known for tiger sharks, seen by divers all year round.
This is a diving and island-life base rather than a beach holiday. The rooms sit on two floors around a shaded garden, and every meal is served at Cozy Deck, the hotel's own restaurant on the garden deck beneath a mango tree.
What you pay
We price Cozy Nest Fuvahmulah on request. Send us your dates and who is travelling, and we will come back with one figure for the room, the meals you choose and the domestic flight from Malé.
There are four room types. The Deluxe Double and Deluxe Twin are the smallest, at about 16 square metres. The Premier Garden View rooms on the ground floor are half as large again, at about 25 square metres, and look over the garden; their twin beds can be joined into a double.
The single Signature Suite is the largest room, at about 28 square metres, with a jacuzzi bathtub and a sofa day-bed beside the main bed. Four rooms have a private balcony.

In the price: your room, the meals you pick, the pickup and drop at Fuvahmulah airport, and every Maldivian tax.
Not in the price: your international flights, travel insurance, Indian TCS, diving and other excursions, and anything not named above.
Who this isn't for
Anyone who wants a drink. Fuvahmulah is an inhabited island and no alcohol is served on it.
Anyone who wants to step out of the room onto sand. The hotel sits in town, not on the beach.
Short trips. Fuvahmulah is a domestic flight from Malé, so three nights leaves little time once you have flown in and out.
Before you book
The domestic flight from Velana to Fuvahmulah takes about an hour. Tell us when you land in Malé and we will match the flight to it, or arrange a night in Malé if you land late.
Rooms have air-conditioning, hot water, Wi-Fi, a mini fridge, a safe, tea and coffee making and a desk. The hotel arranges scuba diving, fishing, surfing and island tours.
Check-in is at 14:00 and check-out at 12:00.
