You walk off the beach and you are on it, a few metres out, and the marine life is routine rather than lucky: blacktip reef sharks, turtles, eagle rays, stingrays, moray eels and mantas. One guest snorkelled about five hours a day. The best stretches are off the reef by the pool and in front of the boathouse. Come for the animals rather than a coral garden: one recent guest found the reef more rock than colourful coral. The current can run strong in places, so ask the dive centre where to go in on the day. There is a marine biologist on the island you can go out with. South Ari also puts whale sharks and mantas within a boat ride. The all inclusive plan includes guided snorkelling from the beach and one boat excursion on a stay of up to nine nights.

Land at Velana after 15:30 and the last seaplane of the day will have gone, which means a night in Malé before you reach the island.
The seaplane flies in daylight only. Land in Malé after 15:30 and you spend a night in Malé at your own expense, then fly out the next morning. A flight home leaving Malé before 09:00 means flying back from the island the afternoon before. The lounge wait for the seaplane is usually between 45 minutes and 2 hours.

About the resort
Constance Moofushi sits in South Ari Atoll, 35 minutes by seaplane from Malé, and its house reef starts a few metres off the beach. Blacktip reef sharks, turtles, eagle rays and stingrays are routine sightings, and South Ari puts mantas and whale sharks within a boat ride.
It is an all inclusive island and the plan is generous: every meal, branded spirits, cocktails and more than 125 wines. It suits couples who want to snorkel all day and never sign a bar bill. The style is barefoot, with sand floors in the main restaurant and bar.
What you pay
Every price on this page is for two adults sharing for three nights, all inclusive, with the return seaplane and every Maldivian tax inside it. Pick your dates and a villa above and the price panel shows the figure for those nights.
Dates move this price more than the villa does. In the green season the Senior Water Villa comes to less than the Beach Villa in the dry-season peak. On the same dates, a Water Villa adds about a tenth to a Beach Villa.
The festive season is not priced on this page, because gala dinners and a minimum stay apply. Pick your dates above and anything unpriced comes through to us with the dates already filled in.
What's included, and what isn't
In the price: your villa for three nights, the return seaplane and every Maldivian tax. Every meal at Manta, with a different buffet theme each night, or lunch at Totem Bar if you prefer. Afternoon tea, branded spirits, beers, cocktails, more than 125 wines, house Champagne with meals and a minibar refilled daily.
Also in the price: one à la carte dinner at Alizée, one boat excursion, guided snorkelling from the beach, snorkel gear, an introductory scuba session in the pool and non-motorised water sports except the catamaran.
Not in the price: diving, the spa, further excursions and extra dinners at Alizée, private dinners and the open-air cinema, the premium wine and Champagne list, laundry, babysitting, your international flights, travel insurance, Indian TCS, and anything not named above.
Who this isn't for
Families with young children. There is no kids' club. Every restaurant serves children's food, but the island is built for adults who snorkel and dive.
Anyone set on a private pool. No villa at Constance Moofushi has one; there is a single shared pool beside the Totem Bar.
Food lovers on a long stay. There are two restaurants, and the plan includes one dinner at Alizée on a stay of up to nine nights.
Short trips with a late arrival. Land in Malé after 15:30 and your first night is spent in a Malé hotel, not on the island.

Seaplane luggage is 20 kg in the hold and 5 kg in the cabin per person. Excess is paid at the seaplane counter, and a single bag of 30 kg or more is not accepted.

Every villa has a sofa bed for a third guest, an adult or a child under 13. In the two senior villas it opens to a double.

Diving and courses are charged on top of the prices on this page. One introductory scuba session in the pool is in the all inclusive plan.
Are taxes and the seaplane included at Constance Moofushi?
Yes. Every price on this page includes the villa, the all inclusive plan, the return seaplane for two, the green tax and every other Maldivian tax. Indian TCS is extra. Your international flights and travel insurance are not included.
