House reef

Our rating 4/5 Strong

Snorkelling straight off the water villa deck is what guests describe again and again, with blacktips, rays and dense reef fish, and live coral in patches. Beach villa guests reach it too: a short swim off the beach puts you over the reef, and one family said they needed no excursions at all. Two honest notes. Not every guest rates it that highly: one called it okay rather than the best house reef they had swum, another fine rather than spectacular. And the island is ringed by breakwaters, beyond which the waves can be big and the swimming is not reliably safe. A guide is worth it if you are not confident.

Seaplane

Journey
25 minutes, airport to island
Last arrival that works
15:30

Land at Velana after 15:30 and the last seaplane of the day will have gone, which means a night in Malé before you reach the island.

The seaplane flies in daylight only. Land in Malé after 15:30 and you spend a night in Malé at your own expense, then fly out the next morning. A flight home leaving Malé before 08:50 means flying back from the island the afternoon before. The lounge wait for the seaplane is usually between 45 minutes and 2 hours.

About the resort

Every villa at Constance Halaveli has its own plunge pool, and the seaplane from Malé takes about 25 minutes. The island sits in North Ari Atoll, with a reef you can snorkel straight off the water villa deck.

It is the more polished of the two Constance islands in the Maldives: four places to eat, a wine cellar of 22,500 bottles, a spa on stilts over the lagoon and a kids' club for ages 4 to 11. You choose half board or all inclusive.

What you pay

Every price on this page is for two adults sharing for three nights, with the return seaplane and every Maldivian tax inside it. Pick your dates, a villa and a meal plan above and the price panel shows the figure.

All inclusive adds between an eighth and a fifth to the half board price for the same villa and dates. Half board leaves out lunch and every drink, so for most couples all inclusive is the simpler choice.

Dates move this price more than the villa does. The Beach Villa is about five per cent more than the Water Villa on the same dates, and a Beach Villa on all inclusive in the green season comes to less than a Water Villa on half board in the dry-season peak.

The festive season is not priced on this page, because the resort adds compulsory gala dinners. Pick your dates above and anything unpriced comes through to us with the dates already filled in.

What's included, and what isn't

In the price: your pool villa for three nights, the return seaplane, every Maldivian tax, and breakfast and dinner daily on half board. Snorkel gear, the gym, the tennis court and non-motorised water sports come with either plan.

All inclusive adds: lunch, buffet dinners at Jahaz or à la carte at Meeru Beach Grill and Jing, branded spirits, beers, cocktails, the wine menu and Champagne, a minibar refilled daily, and two sunset excursions each, chosen from fishing, a dhoni cruise, snorkelling or sea exploration.

Not in the price: diving, the spa, the Kaika Sushi Bar, in-villa dining, private dinners, premium wines and ultra premium spirits, laundry, lunch and drinks on half board, your international flights, travel insurance, Indian TCS, and anything not named above.

Who this isn't for

Families of four. The Water Villa takes two adults and one extra bed, and the Beach Villa two adults, one child under 13 and an infant. Larger family villas exist and are priced on request.

Anyone after a wide, wild beach. Constance Halaveli is ringed by breakwaters, and beyond them the water is not reliably safe to swim.

Short trips with a late arrival. Land in Malé after 15:30 and your first night is spent in a Malé hotel, not on the island.

Before you book

The seaplane flies in daylight only. Land after 15:30 and you spend a night in Malé at your own expense. A flight home before 08:50 means leaving the island the afternoon before. Send us your flights and we will check the connection.

Seaplane luggage is 20 kg in the hold and 5 kg in the cabin per person, and excess is paid at the seaplane counter.

All inclusive has to cover the whole stay and everyone travelling together. Jing and its bar close one night a week, and the à la carte dinners need a reservation.

There are only nine Beach Villas against 57 Water Villas, so the beach option goes first.

For current rates, villa availability and transfers, message our Maldives specialists on WhatsApp or send us an enquiry. We reply within 24 hours.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get to Constance Halaveli?

By seaplane from Velana International Airport, about 25 minutes, and the return flight is in every price on this page. The seaplane flies in daylight only. Land in Malé after 15:30 and you spend a night there first, at your own expense. A flight home before 08:50 means leaving the island the afternoon before. Send us your flights and we will check the connection.

Half board or all inclusive at Constance Halaveli?

Both are priced on this page. Half board is breakfast and dinner daily, with lunch and every drink paid on the island. All inclusive adds lunch, à la carte dinners at Meeru Beach Grill and Jing, branded spirits, beers, cocktails, wine and Champagne, a minibar refilled daily and two sunset excursions each. It has to cover the whole stay and everyone travelling together.

Does every villa at Constance Halaveli have a private pool?

Yes. Every villa has its own plunge pool. On the Water Villa it sits in a sun deck of about 100 m² over the lagoon. On the Beach Villa it sits in a walled garden of about 350 m². There are 57 Water Villas and only nine Beach Villas, so the beach option books up first.

Is Constance Halaveli good for families?

Yes, for small families. Coconut Tribe, the kids' club, takes children aged 4 to 11. The Water Villa takes two adults and one extra bed, and the Beach Villa two adults, one child under 13 and an infant. Larger family villas exist and are priced on request. Tell us the ages of everyone travelling and we will price the whole family.

What is the house reef like at Constance Halaveli?

Guests snorkel straight off the water villa deck, with blacktips, rays and dense reef fish, and live coral in patches. Beach Villa guests reach it with a short swim. Not everyone rates it among the best house reefs, and the island is ringed by breakwaters, beyond which the water is not reliably safe. Snorkel gear is included.

Is there diving and a spa at Constance Halaveli?

Yes. TGI is a PADI dive centre on the island, with an underwater photographer. The spa sits on stilts over the lagoon, with eight treatment rooms, a sauna, a steam room and Sisley treatments. Both are charged on top of the prices on this page, on either meal plan.

Are taxes and the seaplane included at Constance Halaveli?

Yes. Every price on this page includes the villa, your meal plan, the return seaplane for two, the green tax and every other Maldivian tax. Indian TCS is extra. Your international flights and travel insurance are not included. The festive season is not priced on this page because the resort adds compulsory gala dinners.

Tell us your dates and who is travelling
