One of the most highly regarded house reefs in the country, reached through twelve numbered gaps a few metres off the sand. The trade is a hard minimum age of eight, and an island close enough to Malé that you can see development on the horizon.

Getting there
There is no arrival cut-off here. The resort states plainly that its speedboats run from the airport at any time of day or night, so a late landing does not take a night in the capital or a resort night off you.
Both transfers for two adults already sit inside every figure on this page. Nothing for the boat is added at the resort.

Five of these eight categories sit on our booking dropdown. The Baros Villa, the Residence and the two-bedroom Retreat are quoted by hand, and there is exactly one Residence and one Retreat on the whole island.
The counts are the useful column here. Twenty-three Deluxe Beach Villas and fifteen Water Villas at the entry end, then eight Baros Pool Villas and seven Suites. The pool categories go first, and they go early.
Fourteen Deluxe Beach Villas sit on the eastern side, the snorkelling side, and they are the ones numbered in the 100 series. The category runs along both sides of the island, and the resort has told us plainly that it cannot guarantee a specific villa in advance. We will ask for the eastern side on your booking; we will not promise it.

Five places to eat and drink
Lime is the main restaurant, international and Maldivian, and it serves all three meals. Cayenne Grill is the open-sided grill pavilion with teppanyaki show cooking, a Maldivian Mas Bazaar on Monday evenings and a Seafood Market on Thursdays.
The Lighthouse Restaurant is the fine-dining room, seafood and steaks, with the Lighthouse Lounge for wine, cocktails and a live band in the evenings. Sails Bar does light lunches and snacks in the Palm Garden.
Destination dining runs alongside all of that: on the sandbank, on the island, at the piano deck, or in your own villa.
How the plans work
Half board is the better buy on this rate. It carries 30 per cent off the food bill in the other restaurants, plus a one-time floating or in-villa breakfast and a sunset cruise for two. Full board adds lunch and drops the discount.
The Lighthouse dinner is not automatic. The resort’s own written inclusions put it at one dinner per four-night stay and attach it to its dine-around plan rather than to full board. We confirm in writing which plan carries it before anything is paid.
Reservations are recommended for à la carte lunch and dinner.
Full board is sold to Indian passport holders only, which the resort confirmed to us in writing on 14 September 2026.
The water
Why we rate it 5 out of 5
The resort’s own claim is a bold one, and it is one of the very few we would repeat without hedging. Marine life sits about twenty metres from the shore.
Unusually, it works at both ends of the confidence scale. The shallows inside the gaps are calm and full of fish. Swim out through a gap and you are on coral with hawksbill turtles, blacktip and whitetip sharks.
Coral is regrowing, and the resort runs a reef rehabilitation programme with its own nursery, a resident marine biologist and named, tagged resident turtles.

Getting in
Twelve numbered snorkelling gaps ring the island. That is how you get from the shallows onto the reef, and because they are numbered you can be told exactly where to go in rather than guessing.
The resort’s own reef map marks a sunken boat and a coral nursery, with blacktip, whitetip and nurse sharks. Depths run from a metre in the shallows to thirty on the outer wall.
Independent snorkelling is sunrise to sunset only. After dark it has to be a guided tour, and the resort runs one every day.
Wear something on your feet in the shallows, because there is broken coral. The sea beyond the gaps can get rough, so ask at the marine centre before you swim out rather than after.
Diving is with Divers Baros Maldives, a PADI five-star Gold Palm centre that has been open since 1979.

What the price is built on
Two adults, three nights, the villa, your meal plan, the return shared speedboat, and every Maldivian tax including the green tax. Indian TCS is the one thing outside the figure.
The split stays are two nights in each of two villas, so four. Any other length prices on an extra-night rate and is not on the dropdown. Ask and we will build it.
Ways to pay less
Travel in August or September. The entry villa is roughly ₹48,000 cheaper than the same stay from 1 October, which is the widest seasonal gap on this rate.
Take half board rather than full. Full board adds about what lunch for two actually comes to, and it drops the 30 per cent discount that makes half board worth having.
Look at the split stay if this is a honeymoon. Two nights on the sand and two over the water is the cheap way into a water villa.

These prices run to 22 December 2026.
Cancellation is generous for the Maldives: free to 31 days before arrival, half between 15 and 30 days, and the full stay inside 14. Early check-out and no-shows are charged in full.
Things we would rather you heard from us
- There is a minimum age of eight. Baros will not take a younger child, and the reason it gives is the quiet it is protecting. If you have a six-year-old, this island is simply not available to you, and it is better to hear that here than at the booking stage.
- The Lighthouse dinner is the thing people get wrong. It appears in the resort’s own inclusions at one per four-night stay, attached to its dine-around plan. If a dinner at the Lighthouse is why you are coming, say so and we will get it confirmed in writing before anything is paid.
- You can see Malé from here. Twenty-five minutes buys you a boat at any hour and takes away the sense of being far from anything. There is development visible in the distance. Most guests do not mind it. Some do, and they tend to be the ones who were not told.
- There is broken coral in the shallows. Wear something on your feet. The water beyond the gaps can also get rough, so the marine centre is worth asking before you swim out rather than after you have.
- You cannot reserve a particular villa here. The reef-facing Deluxe Beach Villas are the fourteen on the eastern side, numbered in the 100 series, and the resort told us in writing on 14 September 2026 that specific locations cannot be guaranteed in advance. We will put the request on your booking and tell you honestly that it is a request.
- The resort’s own pages disagree about water sports. One page says there are no motorised water sports at all; another lists water skiing and wakeboarding. We have asked which is right. Until we have an answer, please do not book this island on the strength of either.
