Ayada Maldives, in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll in the deep south, welcomed its first guests on 30 October 2011. This month it turns 15.

Fifteen years on the island

The resort says more than a quarter of its team have worked there for over ten years. In our experience that kind of continuity shows up in the small things: staff who remember returning guests, and requests that get handled without fuss.

Halloween at Ayada

Every October the island takes on a spooky look, with skeletons in the jungle and props appearing around the resort. There is a dedicated Halloween show and themed experiences, pitched so that both children and adults can join in.

What it means for your stay: if you are travelling with children in late October, this is a fun extra evening on top of your holiday.

Christmas and New Year

Ayada is already preparing its festive season. It plans shows, a gala dinner and activities for both children and adults, and will share the full programme next month. Festive weeks at Ayada fill early, so if you are thinking of Christmas or New Year here, it is worth asking us now.
