The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands

Regular price₹ 655,700
/
Double occupancy, 3 to 6 nights, half board, return shared speedboat, all taxes included except TCS · valid until 17 Dec 2026

The Ritz-Carlton has its own island inside the Fari Islands archipelago, 45 minutes from Velana, and the speedboat runs on demand around the clock. Land at two in the morning and you still sleep on the island.

Three nights for two, half board with the return speedboat and every tax inside, starts at ₹655,700. The boat used to be quoted on top here, and it was the line that surprised people.

What this actually costs

Pick a villa and a package above and the price is the whole stay at that villa’s standard occupancy, with half board, the shared speedboat and every tax inside. Every villa has its own pool and a butler on call 24 hours.

  • Book the fourth night. Three nights buys the villa and the boat. The fourth adds a spa credit of US$200 in a one-bedroom villa and US$500 in a two-bedroom, and upgrades two-bedroom guests from the speedboat to a shared yacht. In the Ocean Pool Villa that night costs ₹141,400.
  • Two children under twelve stay, eat and travel free in every villa except the Ocean Pool and the Lagoon Pool. So a family of four takes the Beach Pool Villa: five nights in September is ₹1,123,700 with the children free, against ₹2,329,700 for the Two Bedroom Water Pool Villa.
  • September is the cheapest month here and it stops abruptly. The Ocean Pool Villa is ₹655,700 for three nights to 29 September and ₹794,600 from 6 October. Nothing is sold between those two dates.

Not on the dropdown, but we will book them: two nights in an Ocean Pool Villa then two in a Beach Pool Villa, ₹843,400 in September and ₹55,600 less than four straight nights on the beach; stays of seven nights and over, where each extra night drops to a lower rate; and the six-person Ritz-Carlton Estate.

Who this isn’t for

Anyone after a small barefoot island. Fari has a promenade, a marina and neighbouring resorts, and it is built that way on purpose.

Anyone choosing a resort on its house reef. This is a man-made archipelago with no natural reef ringing the island. The sunrise side is calm and shallow with fish and small reef sharks off the villas, which suits nervous swimmers and children, but for coral you take a boat about twenty minutes out. And families on a budget should note the free-child offer skips the two cheapest villas.

Before you book

  • Three consecutive nights minimum, in one villa. For travellers from India, new bookings only, and it cannot be combined with another promotion, though honeymoon benefits do stack.
  • 30 September to 5 October is not sold, and the last stay date is 17 December 2026. A split stay needs four nights; the resort decides which villa you get first and confirms it on arrival.
  • Lunch, drinks and the speciality restaurants are settled on the island. A third adult is US$2,647 on three nights and US$3,187 on four, half board and the boat included.
  • Ritz Kids takes four to twelve year olds. The spa credit covers treatments only.

Tell us your dates, who is travelling and which airport you fly from, and we will price two or three villas with the spa credit and the free-child rule applied wherever your dates allow. Message our Maldives specialists on WhatsApp or send us an enquiry. We reply within 24 hours.

House reef 2/5 Thin

Little or nothing to snorkel off the beach. Some islands in this band run a free boat to a reef — the note below says whether this one does.

Fari Islands is a man-made archipelago, so there is no natural house reef ringing the island. The sunrise side is calm and shallow with fish and small reef sharks off the villas, which suits nervous swimmers and children. For actual coral you take a boat, roughly twenty minutes. Ask for a sunrise villa if you want to snorkel from your steps at all.

A day here, honestly

The day of the week sets the shape of your stay here, which is true of almost nowhere else we sell. The excursion programme runs to a fixed weekly rota, so the trip you want decides which days you should be on the island. Turtle snorkelling goes Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The shark and manta dive goes Monday and Thursday only. The sunset cruise sails Wednesday and Saturday. Book a Tuesday to Friday and you will miss two of the three.

Day 1, arriving

A shared luxury speedboat, forty-five minutes, running around the clock, and the return leg is inside your price. There is no daylight window to miss and no night in Male at either end, whatever time you land. Two-bedroom villas and above are upgraded to a shared yacht on stays of four nights or more.

Do these three things when you land.

  • Book your excursions the day you arrive. Reservations close at 18:00 the evening before each trip, and the rota means a missed day is a missed week.
  • Ask for the current restaurant schedule. It is republished every two weeks and venues do close, so what was open last month may not be open now.
  • Take the complimentary orientation dive if you intend to dive at all. It is free provided another dive follows.

Days 2 to 3, your full days

Mornings

Little to snorkel from the beach. The reef here is a boat trip.

Fari Islands is a man-made archipelago, so there is no natural reef ringing the island. What there is, and the resort is clear about this, are two places you can snorkel from the shore without a boat: the swimming platform in the lagoon, and the Coral Garden Sanctuary at Mystique Garden. Both are planted rather than natural. For coral at scale you go out on the water, and the morning trips are where that happens.

Anyone who wants to see turtles
Turtle Snorkelling, 09:00, three hours, USD 170 before tax, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. It is the most booked morning on the island.
Divers after the big animals
Shark and manta at Shark Tank and Lankan Manta Point, 08:00 on Monday and Thursday only. One dive USD 750, two USD 1250, and this one does carry a minimum of four divers.
Anyone happy close to home
The lagoon swimming platform and the Coral Garden Sanctuary, both from the island, both free. Ask for a sunrise villa if snorkelling from your own steps matters to you.
Families with young children
Snorkelling excursions start at age six. Under-sixes can come on the boat trips, the sunset cruise, the fishing and the dolphin cruise, but not into the water on a snorkelling trip.

Afternoons

There is a scheduled activity most afternoons and two of them cost nothing. Coral Garden Snorkelling runs 15:00 on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at USD 150. Shark Quest runs 15:00 on Monday, Friday and Sunday at USD 150. The Marine Biologist Scuba Dive goes 14:00 on Wednesday and Sunday at USD 240. Free of charge: the Coral Regeneration Experience at 16:00 on Tuesday, the Marine Biology Talk at 16:00 on Friday, and a children's activity every single day at 17:00 for under-twelves, different each day of the week. Kayaks, paddleboards, windsurf equipment and the catamaran for experienced sailors are all free too.

Evenings

Three evening trips, all before dinner. The Dolphin Cruise by Dhoni at 17:30 on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday, USD 180. Traditional Sunset Fishing at 18:00 on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, USD 150. The Luxury Sunset Cruise on the Jolly Roger at 18:00 on Wednesday and Saturday, USD 250. Then dinner, and this is where the plan matters. Half board covers a set number of courses at La Locanda, Summer Pavilion, Arabesque, EAU Bar or Beach Shack, with breakfast at La Locanda. Three things it does not cover: every drink, because there is no beverage package here at all; theme dinners, which are discounted rather than included; and in-villa dining, which sits outside every meal package. Premium items such as lobster and caviar are also out.

Day 4, leaving

Nothing to plan around. The boat runs at any hour, so an early flight home costs you nothing.

What you will still pay

Drinks first, and they will be the largest line, because no beverage package exists on this island and half board covers food only. Then the excursions, and every price above is quoted before 10 per cent service and 17 per cent TGST, so a USD 150 trip reaches your folio at about USD 193 and the USD 750 dive at about USD 965. Then the spa, though four-night stays carry a spa credit of USD 200 per one-bedroom villa. Green tax at USD 12 per person per night is already inside your price.

Who this island's day does not suit

Anyone whose morning is a snorkel off a natural reef, and anyone travelling with under-sixes who came to snorkel as a family. The reef here is constructed and the good water is a boat ride.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands? +
On its own island within the Fari Islands, a small archipelago in North Malé Atoll about 45 kilometres from Velana International Airport. It shares a marina village with its neighbouring resorts.
How do I get there? +
Speedboat from Velana, on demand, 24 hours a day. There is no seaplane and therefore no daylight cut-off, so a flight landing late at night still gets you to the island that night. On our current rate the shared return speedboat is included in the price, and two-bedroom villas are upgraded to a shared yacht on stays of four nights or more.
What meal plan do you sell? +
We quote the Ritz-Carlton on half board, which covers breakfast and dinner. Lunch, drinks and the specialist restaurants are settled on the island. Ask us if you would prefer a different plan and we will price it.
What comes with every villa? +
A private infinity pool, a sundeck and an Aris Meeha, the resort’s own butler, available around the clock. Every category has water views.
Where can I eat? +
Seven restaurants and bars. La Locanda is Italian and serves breakfast, Summer Pavilion is Cantonese, IWAU runs two Japanese chef’s tables, Beach Shack is Mediterranean and family-friendly, EAU Bar circles the infinity pool, Arabesque serves Levantine and North Indian, and Tum Tum does Asian street food at Fari Marina Village.
Is there Indian food? +
Yes. Arabesque serves North Indian alongside Levantine. It is one of the few resorts at this level where a familiar dinner is a standing option rather than a special request.
Is it suitable for families? +
Yes. Ritz Kids runs for four to twelve year olds in an indoor-outdoor club with playgrounds, napping pods, a games and film room and a pool with slides. Babysitting is available and charged. On our current rate two children under twelve stay, eat and travel free in every villa except the Ocean Pool and the Lagoon Pool.
What is the spa like? +
A ring-shaped building set over the lagoon, with nine treatment rooms, a spa suite that has its own relaxation lounge, a salon and a boutique. Treatments use Bamford products.
