The island is man-made and there is no reef ringing it. Snorkelling happens in two lagoon areas in front of the restaurants: fish, blacktips, the occasional nurse shark, but little living coral. Reports vary a lot by villa, and some guests off the water villas have had excellent days. The current there runs strong and the water is too shallow to swim some mornings, so ask us which villa you are being quoted before you plan around the reef. The diving in South Ari is a different matter entirely and it is excellent.

About the resort
At Radisson Blu Resort Maldives the meal plan you pay for is not the one you eat on. Pay for half board and you are on full board. Pay for full board and you are on Classic All-Inclusive. The villa itself is half price on every date on this page.
The resort sits in South Ari Atoll, where manta rays and whale sharks are seen all year. Every villa here has its own pool. It is a large resort and a boat-diving holiday more than a beach-snorkelling one.
What you pay
Pick your dates and a villa and the price is the whole stay for two on bed and breakfast: the villa, the return transfer and every Maldivian tax, green tax included. The half-price offer is already in it.
Booking early takes more off. Book 45 days ahead for a further 5% off the villa, 60 days for 10%, 90 days for 15%. On a seven-night green-season stay in the Pool & Lagoon View overwater villa, ninety days ahead takes about a tenth off the price shown here. We apply it.
It turns on the day you book, so the prices on this page are before it. We apply it. Nine nights or more takes another 5%.
The meal plan upgrade is the part to read twice. Paying for full board puts you on Classic All-Inclusive, which on four nights for two is a substantial addition and usually worth it. Everyone in the villa must be on the same plan. Ask us for the figure on your dates.
What's included, and what isn't
In the price: your villa for two with its private pool, breakfast daily, the return seaplane or domestic flight and speedboat, US$50 of spa credit per person per day, a floating breakfast on stays of seven nights or more, and every Maldivian tax including green tax.
Not in the price: your international flights, travel insurance, lunch and dinner unless you add a meal plan, drinks, diving and excursions, spa treatments beyond the daily credit, Indian TCS, and anything not named above.
Who this isn't for
Anyone planning to snorkel off the beach. The island is man-made and no reef rings it. Snorkelling happens in two lagoon patches in front of the restaurants: fish and blacktips, little living coral, a strong current, and water too shallow to swim some mornings.
Families wanting a child under twelve in an overwater villa. The resort advises against it and asks a parent to sign a waiver at check-in. Book the beach villa.
Anyone landing at Velana after 15:30. Both transfer routes stop by then, so a late flight means a night in Malé first.

Four villa types are priced on this page, all with their own pool: three overwater villas, facing the lagoon, the sunrise or the sunset, and a beach villa on the sunset side. Prices are for two adults. The two- and three-bedroom villas and the Presidential villa are not priced on this page, but we can book them. Ask us for a price.
Is Radisson Blu Resort Maldives all-inclusive?
Not on these prices. Every price on this page is bed and breakfast. You can add a meal plan, and the resort gives a free step up: pay for half board and you eat on full board, pay for full board and you are on Classic All-Inclusive. Everyone in the villa must be on the same plan for the whole stay. Tell us which you want and we will price it.
What restaurants and bars are there at Radisson Blu Resort Maldives?
Seven: Raha (all-day dining), Kabuki (Japanese), Crusoe's (beach grill), Eats & Beats (poolside), Alifaan (Maldivian), The Lab (cocktails) and Mahurab Bar, plus Dining by Design for private dinners. On half board and above you also get a US$65 credit per person per night at Alifaan or Kabuki. On bed and breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks are charged.
How does the spa credit work?
Every stay priced on this page includes US$50 of spa credit per person per day at Blu Spa. Use it that day or lose it: unspent credit does not carry over to the next day. For two people on a five-night stay, that is up to US$500 of treatments. Anything beyond the daily credit is charged.
Is Radisson Blu Resort Maldives good for families?
Yes, in the beach villa. Children under twelve stay free and eat free from the children's menu on their parents' plan. Teenagers pay a small nightly charge and the adult transfer fare.
