Worth understanding the history here. This is a reclaimed island and its reef was still being built a few years ago, with guests then reporting little to see. The recent reports have turned: coral repopulating and growing strongly, two marked snorkelling areas, easy entry close to shore, baby sharks at the shoreline, and sharks and turtles reported this summer. So it is improving rather than established, and we would not sell it as more than that yet. One side of the island drops off steeply and quickly, which some find unnerving. The dive centre runs manta and nurse shark trips.

About the resort
Oaga Art Resort is a Maldivian-run island in North Malé Atoll, 45 minutes from Velana by speedboat, and it is built around the country's own art, music and stories. Every price here is an all-inclusive plan put together for Indian guests, with Jain food on request and a vegetarian corner at every buffet.
It is a lively island rather than a sleepy one, with live music, bonfires, DJ nights and karaoke most evenings. Six kinds of villa are priced on this page, from a garden villa with its own pool to the Odi Water Villa, which has a slide from the deck into the lagoon.
What you pay
Every price is for two people for three, four or seven nights, with the all-inclusive plan, the return speedboat and every Maldivian tax inside. The two-bedroom suite is priced for two as well, so tell us who else is coming and we will add them.
Honeymooners get the bed decorated, and a candlelight dinner on stays of four nights or more. With children sharing your villa, the green tax for two of them is already in the price, and their speedboat seats are half price.
What's included, and what isn't
In the price: the villa, breakfast, lunch and dinner at Kaa Kada, drinks at the Raa Baa bar, afternoon tea, a minibar refilled daily, one floating breakfast, a sunset cruise, a 30-minute couples' spa treatment, snorkelling gear, half an hour a day on a paddleboard or kayak, the return speedboat and every Maldivian tax.
Not in the price: the à la carte restaurants, diving and excursions, your international flights, travel insurance, Indian TCS, and anything not named above.
Who this isn't for
Anyone looking for silence. Oaga Art Resort is sociable, colourful and busy after dark. It suits couples and families who like a bit of life around them, not those after a hideaway.
The house reef is improving rather than established. Guests now see reef sharks and turtles close to shore, but the coral is young, and one side of the island drops away steeply.

The Avi and Odi water villas are coming back into use after building work. Ask us which dates they are taking guests before you book flights. The festive period is not priced on this page.

Yes. The all-inclusive plan on this page was put together for Indian guests. The buffet at Kaa Kada has a dedicated vegetarian corner, and the kitchen cooks a Jain set menu on request. Tell us about any dietary needs when you book and we will pass them on.

The Odi Water Villa with Private Pool and Slide. It sits over the water with a large infinity pool, a hammock and a slide into the lagoon. The water villas are coming back into use after building work, so ask us which dates they are taking guests.
Is Oaga Art Resort good for families?
Yes, for families who like a lively island. The Fiyoh kids' club runs arts and crafts, face painting and treasure hunts. With children sharing your villa, the green tax for two of them is in the price and their speedboat seats are half price. The two-bedroom beach suite has a king bed and two singles.
