Fantastic experience at East Market

It was a fantastic experience here. Especially the staff in East Market gave us so much happiness. Thank you Anu, Jumaan, Michael, Pong, Easter so much. They smile all the time to welcome us. They even set us a wonderful table. They all gave us a wonderful experience! The food in East Market is the best among all the restaurants!!!

The best honeymoon experience

We went to this resort for our honeymoon and stayed in the water pavilions with the pool — it was unbelievably amazing! The views, the food, the staff were incredible. The staff remembered our drink and food orders and our names, making us feel so special. We did a couples massage in the water bungalows — one of the best massages ever. We also loved seeing sharks, sting rays and sea turtles every single day. Definitely our favourite vacation ever!

Amazing resort with fabulous food and service

We absolutely love this resort. It is our third time travelling to LUX* and it never disappoints. The weather for July was great. The food is exceptional, as is the service. Special shout out to Aru in the Lagoon Bar and Allegria — so friendly and always ensured we had what we needed. Also Khan in Mixe and Veli Bar — he always remembers us and makes us feel very welcome.

LUX* South Ari Atoll

Regular price₹ 318,100
/
Double occupancy, 4 nights split two and two, half board, return seaplane transfers and green tax included · valid until 15 Oct 2026

Two nights on the beach, then two nights over the water, for ₹302,700 a couple on half board with the return seaplane and green tax inside. That is the Fabulous Offer, it is India only, and booking closes on 15 October 2026. At standard rates the same four nights would be ₹437,000.

Every option above is a split stay. That sounds like a limitation and is really the point: the beach half and the overwater half of a Maldivian holiday are different holidays.

What this actually costs

Each price is two adults, four nights, half board, with the return seaplane and the green tax in it. Nothing is added at the resort.

  • The whole ladder is only ₹61,200 wide. To 5 October the cheapest pairing is ₹302,700 and the dearest ₹363,900. Upgrading both halves costs about a fifth more, unusually flat for the Maldives.
  • Swapping the Water Villa for its pool version costs ₹15,400. Four nights of a private infinity pool over the lagoon, for less than most resorts charge for one night.
  • Christmas is the cliff. The entry pairing is ₹433,300 to 22 December and ₹698,100 from the 23rd. New Year is ₹782,300. In January, waiting a week saves ₹20,000: ₹473,300 from the 6th, ₹453,300 from the 17th.

Meal plans step up per adult per night above bed and breakfast: half board US$110, full board US$170, all inclusive US$200, premium all inclusive US$270. Take full board. In most travel windows it upgrades free to all inclusive, though not between 27 December and 16 January. Children under six eat free on the parents' plan, and everyone in the villa must be on the same one.

Who this isn’t for

The lagoon is sand. Lovely to swim in, close to empty for snorkelling, and the coral in front of the water villas is dead. LUX* runs a free guided boat to the reef twice a day, about ten minutes out, and there is planted coral by the seaplane jetty. Book this island for the whale sharks, which South Ari holds year round, and for the diving.

Families of four or more are out too. The Family Beach Pavilion and Family Lagoon Pavilion sit outside this offer, as does any stay in one villa throughout. We price both by hand.

Before you book

  • Booking closes 15 October 2026 and travel runs to 31 January 2027. 15 October itself falls between two pricing windows and is not priced above; ask and we will quote it.
  • Cancellation tightens fast. You lose 25% at 30 days, 50% at 20 days, 75% at 7 days and everything inside 3 days. Over peak it is 100% from 45 days out. Payment falls due 21 days before arrival, 60 days over peak.
  • Seaplanes fly in daylight only, about thirty minutes from Malé, last departure between 15:00 and 16:00. Send us your inbound flight before you ticket. Check in 14:00, check out 11:00.
  • No festive dining supplement is published for these dates, even though the offer prices Christmas and New Year. Most Maldivian resorts charge one. We confirm it in writing before we take a peak-season deposit.

Tell us your dates, who is travelling and which airport you fly from, and we will come back with both villas, the meal plan, the seaplane and the green tax on separate lines, plus what the same trip costs outside the offer. Message our Maldives specialists on WhatsApp or send us an enquiry. We reply within 24 hours.

House reef 2/5 Thin

Little or nothing to snorkel off the beach. Some islands in this band run a free boat to a reef — the note below says whether this one does.

The lagoon is sand, beautiful for swimming and close to empty for snorkelling, with dead coral in front of the water villas. What you get instead is a free guided boat to the reef twice a day, about ten minutes out, where turtles and mantas are common. The one good spot you can reach yourself is by the seaplane jetty, where they have planted coral and reef sharks come in behind the boats. Book this island for the whale sharks, which South Ari has year-round, not for snorkelling off your steps.

Getting there

Route Seaplane
Journey 30 min, airport to island
Last arrival that works 15:00

Land at Velana after 15:00 and the last transfer of the day will have gone, which means a night in Malé before you reach the island.

Shared seaplane, daylight only. Land at Velana in the evening and you spend a night in Malé first, so send us your flights and we will check the connection before you book.

LUX* South Ari Atoll has a really easygoing, playful feel to it. What stood out for us was the sheer space—the beautiful turquoise lagoon, long stretches of white sand and a wonderfully lush, coconut-filled island....
