Live coral within swimming distance of the beach, reliably good fish life, safe entry.
A very small island with the reef right around it, so you get in off the beach and swim a circuit rather than working one stretch. Blacktips and whitetips turn up on most snorkels, along with hawksbill turtles and eagle rays, and mantas pass in season. Gear is free, so a moderate swimmer gets the best of this island without booking anything. Two honest things: other resorts run their snorkelling boats out to this reef, so you will have company, and the beach has eroded badly in front of many bungalows. Ask us which ones still have sand.
