The last speedboat of the day leaves at 17:00. Allow an hour to clear the airport, so land well before then or plan a night in Malé before you reach the island.

Staying on a local island
Kaani Village & Spa Maafushi stands on an island where Maldivians live and work, so the island's rules apply to everyone staying there.
No alcohol. It is not sold or served anywhere on an inhabited island. Swimwear on the tourist beach. In the village, cover shoulders and knees. Friday is the day off. Shops close for prayers and fewer boats run, so check your transfer times if you arrive or leave on a Friday.
Ask us about any of this before you book. We would rather you knew now than on the jetty.
About the hotel
Kaani Village & Spa is the Kaani hotel on Maafushi with a pool and a spa, and two room types. It suits couples who want somewhere to swim between excursions without paying for a sea view. Every price includes the room, breakfast or half board, the return shared speedboat and every tax, green tax included.
What this actually costs
The Deluxe Double with a pool view is the room most couples should book. The Family Room sleeps three and costs about a sixth more; prices shown are for two.
Half board adds dinner and puts close to forty percent on a three-night stay. With cafés a short walk away, breakfast only is usually enough.
October is the cheapest window. January to April and November to 20 December cost about a fifth more, and May to October sits close to the October price. November and December this year are not on the dropdown, and neither is Christmas or New Year. We can still price those dates for you; ask.
Who this isn’t for
Anyone who wants a drink. Maafushi is an inhabited island and no alcohol is served on it. It is also busy, with several Kaani hotels and many other guest houses close together.
If you want the sea from your balcony, Kaani Grand Seaview or Kaani Palm Beach suit you better.
Before you book
The shared speedboat leaves Velana at 09:15, 11:00, 13:30, 15:00 and 18:00 and takes about 35 minutes. Someone from the hotel meets you at its desk in the arrivals hall. Land by about 17:00 or plan a night in Malé first.
Check-in is at 14:00 and check-out at 12:00. Christmas and New Year carry compulsory gala dinners.
