Hurawalhi #8 & #9 - better than ever!

We did loads of snorkeling, booked marine biologist (do that!) and went on a Manta search.

An Unforgettable Experience in Paradise

We particularly appreciated the complimentary snorkeling excursion offered once per stay, accompanied by a marine biologist.

Simply the best

His snorkeling tips helped us see all the creatures right in the house reef - sharks, turtles, rays, and more!

Regular price₹ 274,500
/
Double occupancy, 3, 5 or 7 nights, meal plan as shown on each package, return seaplane and all taxes included · valid until 30 Sep 2026

Hurawalhi takes nobody under fifteen. One island, one resort, 400 metres of it in Lhaviyani Atoll, and a 40-minute seaplane from Velana. It is also where you eat five and a half metres under the lagoon, in a restaurant made entirely of glass.

Three nights for two in September, full board with the seaplane and every tax inside, is ₹274,500. Everything here has to be booked by 30 September 2026.

What this actually costs

Pick a villa and a package above and the price is the whole stay for two: the villa, the meal plan on that package, the return seaplane and every tax including the green tax. Nothing is added at the resort.

  • Two offers are running and the autumn one is the better deal by a distance. For stays to 26 December it takes 30% off the villa and upgrades you to full board for nothing. Five September nights in the Ocean Villa comes to ₹392,900 against ₹648,300, a saving of ₹255,400. From 6 January to 30 April the discount is 25% and the plan stays breakfast.
  • Autumn 2026 undercuts next summer, which is the wrong way round. Five nights in the Ocean Villa is ₹392,900 in September and ₹536,200 the following May, because the offer covers one and not the other.
  • A private pool costs ₹44,000 on three nights. The Ocean Villa is 105 m² over the water without one; the Beach Pool Villa is 132 m² on the sand with one. There are only nine Beach Pool Villas against thirty Ocean Pool Villas, so the sand goes first.

Not on the dropdown, but we will book them: half board and All Inclusive Plus on any date, four, six and longer stays, and the domestic flight, which lands at night when the seaplane cannot.

Who this isn’t for

Anyone travelling with a child. The minimum age is fifteen and not negotiable, so this is not a family island. Also anyone who needs a third bed: every villa has one king and takes three adults at most.

Anyone landing late. The seaplane flies in daylight only and the last one out is around 16:00, so an evening arrival means a night in Malé before you reach the island. And anyone hoping for Christmas or New Year on these prices: 27 December to 5 January is not sold here, because both gala dinners are compulsory and the resort accepts no departures on 31 December.

Before you book

  • Booking closes 30 September 2026. Both offers are for new bookings only, neither can be combined with another promotion, and the resort invoices a minimum of three nights whatever you book.
  • Cancellation is late and then absolute. Free until seven days before arrival, then 50% of the whole stay, then 100% inside three days. Payment falls due 30 days before arrival. Moving your dates inside those windows counts as a cancellation.
  • A third adult is US$326 a night including breakfast. Honeymoon and anniversary couples get champagne, bed decoration and a fruit basket, on a certificate within twelve months.
  • The house reef is a real one. Guests report sharks, turtles and rays on most snorkels, and there is a marine biology centre beside the Prodivers dive shop. The island map marks prohibited zones and strong-current stretches, so read it on day one. Check in 14:00, check out 12:00.

Send us your dates and we will price two or three villas with everything inside the number, cost the other meal plans against the full board you already have, and tell you which flights land in time for the seaplane. Message our Maldives specialists on WhatsApp or send us an enquiry. We reply within 24 hours.

House reef 4/5 Strong

Worth choosing the resort for. One or two caveats on entry point or current.

Guests report sharks, turtles and rays on most snorkels rather than the odd lucky one, and the free guided snorkel with the resident marine biologist is what repeat visitors mention first. Prodivers runs the dive centre and there is a marine biology centre on the island. The catch is that you cannot get in wherever you like. The island map marks zones where snorkelling and swimming are prohibited, several stretches with strong current and one to snorkel with caution, and wave breakers run along the western beach. Read it on day one and ask the dive team which side is working.

Getting there

Route Seaplane
Journey 40 min, airport to island
Last arrival that works 15:00

Land at Velana after 15:00 and the last transfer of the day will have gone, which means a night in Malé before you reach the island.

There is a second way in. Domestic flight to Madivaru plus boat, on request.

Shared seaplane, daylight only. The resort's lounge at the seaplane terminal is complimentary on arrival, and if you land at night we can put you on the domestic flight to Madivaru instead.

Transfer details last checked August 2026. We re-check yours against your actual ticket before we quote. See what your flight can reach →

Ocean Villa

The cheapest way onto the water at Hurawalhi. 105 m² over the lagoon with a private sundeck, and no pool. That is the trade-off, and for a lot of couples it is the right one. Fifteen in the category.

Romantic Ocean Villa

The same 105 m² overwater footprint as the Ocean Villa, dressed and positioned for couples. Still no pool. Pick it if you want the overwater walk and the privacy without paying for a plunge pool you will use twice. Fifteen in the category.

Beach Sunset Pool Villa

The same 132 m² beach villa and private pool, turned to face the sunset. Twenty-one of them, so availability holds far better than the Beach Pool Villa. We steer most sand-first guests here for that reason alone.

Where in the Maldives?

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Hurawalhi Island Resort, and how do you get there? +
Hurawalhi sits in Lhaviyani Atoll on its own island, roughly 400 metres by 165 metres. The transfer is a shared seaplane from Velana International Airport, about 40 minutes, and seaplanes fly in daylight only. A domestic flight to Madivaru followed by a boat is available on request and does run at night.
Can children stay at Hurawalhi? +
No. Hurawalhi is adults only and accepts guests aged 15 and over. There is no children's programme and no child rate. If someone in your party is under 15, tell us before you get attached to the idea and we will shortlist resorts that will actually take them.
What is the 5.8 Undersea Restaurant? +
It is the resort's signature restaurant, glass-walled and set 5.8 metres below the surface of the lagoon. The island's other outlets are Canneli, the all-day restaurant where breakfast is served, Kashibo Restaurant & Bar, Coco Bar, the Games Room and a Champagne Pavilion.
What is the house reef like, and is there diving? +
Good, and unusually well evidenced. Guests posting to TripAdvisor through 2026 describe sharks, turtles and rays on most snorkels straight off the house reef, and the complimentary guided snorkel with the resident marine biologist comes up again and again. The island map also marks prohibited swimming zones, several strong-current areas and one stretch to snorkel with caution, so read it at check-in. Prodivers runs the dive centre. We rate the house reef 4 out of 5.
What meal plans are available at Hurawalhi? +
Breakfast is served at Canneli, the all-day restaurant. Meal plan structures shift by season and by rate, and what they cover at 5.8 Undersea Restaurant shifts with them, so we confirm the exact plan and its exclusions in writing with your quote before you pay anything.
Is there a minimum stay, and what are the check-in times? +
Three nights minimum. Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out is at 12:00. Because the seaplane flies in daylight only and the last one out of the resort leaves around 16:00, build your departure day around the seaplane rather than around your flight home.
