About the resort
Finolhu, a Seaside Collection Resort sits in Baa Atoll, inside the UNESCO biosphere reserve, a 30-minute seaplane flight from Velana airport. Its long sandbank curls out into the lagoon, and the Crab Shack sits at the far end of it.
This is a lively island rather than a hushed one. There are 125 villas, 79 of them with a pool, designed by Muza Lab in bright colour. Beach Kitchen, Kanusan, Arabian Grill, Crab Shack, Beach Club and Milk Lab give you six places to eat and drink, and the Oceaneers' Club and Teens Hut keep children busy.
What you pay
Every price on this page is for two adults sharing, three or four nights, with the return seaplane, green tax and every Maldivian tax included. Pick half board, all inclusive or premium all inclusive above.
The fourth night adds less than any of the first three, on every villa and plan. Moving from all inclusive to premium all inclusive adds less than moving from half board to all inclusive.
The two-bedroom villas are priced for two adults too. Tell us how many of you are travelling and we will price the stay for everyone.
What's included, and what isn't
In the price: your villa, the meal plan you pick, the return shared seaplane for two, green tax, every Maldivian tax and service charge, a shared Roohu host and buggy around the clock, still water, tea and coffee with meals, non-motorised water sports, one dolphin cruise when the weather allows, and one shisha at Beach Club.
Not in the price: your international flights, travel insurance, Indian TCS, diving, motorised water sports, spa treatments, other excursions, a floating breakfast in the pool villas at US$45 a tray, and anything not named above.
Who this isn't for
Couples after silence should look elsewhere. Finolhu, a Seaside Collection Resort runs its own radio station, a busy beach club and a large family crowd, and it is built for fun rather than retreat.
Evening arrivals lose time here. Seaplanes fly in daylight only, so a late landing at Velana means a night near Malé or a domestic flight and speedboat that we price separately. The Lagoon Villa sits over the water but has no pool, and the sea in front of the water villas can run with strong currents on rough days.
Before you book
Land at Velana by 15:00 to fly the same day. The seaplane may stop at another island on the way, and luggage is limited on board, so ask us for the allowance on your routing.
Honeymoon and anniversary extras need four nights, travel within six months of the wedding, and a copy of the certificate. They include sparkling wine, a cake and a set dinner at Kanusan or Arabian Grill.
Up to two children under twelve can share a one-bedroom villa with their parents, and anyone twelve or over counts as an adult. These prices are for guests travelling from India. Once a stay is booked, the dates and names cannot be changed. Not every date is priced on this page. Pick your dates above and anything unpriced comes through to us with the dates already filled in.

Are there honeymoon extras at Finolhu, a Seaside Collection Resort?
Yes, on stays of four nights or more within six months of the wedding. You get sparkling wine, a romantic bath set-up, a honeymoon cake and a set dinner at Kanusan or Arabian Grill. Bring a copy of the wedding certificate, or the invitation if the certificate has not arrived.
