Shared speedboat

Last arrival that works
21:00

The last speedboat of the day leaves at 21:00. Allow an hour to clear the airport, so land well before then or plan a night in Malé before you reach the island.

A shared speedboat on a timetable, not a private boat. It leaves Malé at 09:15, 12:30, 16:00, 18:00 and 22:00, calls at Velana airport to collect arriving guests, and then goes on to Thulusdhoo, so you board at the airport. It comes back at 08:00, 11:00, 14:15, 17:00 and 20:00. A boat company runs it, so we confirm the times for your dates.

Staying on a local island

Dream Inn Thulusdhoo stands on an island where Maldivians live and work, so the island's rules apply to everyone staying there.

No alcohol. It is not sold or served anywhere on an inhabited island. Swimwear on the tourist beach. In the village, cover shoulders and knees. Friday is the day off. Shops close for prayers and fewer boats run, so check your transfer times if you arrive or leave on a Friday.

Ask us about any of this before you book. We would rather you knew now than on the jetty.

About the hotel

Dream Inn is a small hotel on Thulusdhoo, an inhabited island in North Malé Atoll. There are two room types, the Deluxe Room and the Super Deluxe Room. Both are 480 sq ft (about 45 m²) and each sleeps up to three people. It suits couples and friends who want a simple, well-kept base on a local island. Every price includes the room, breakfast or half board, the return shared speedboat and every tax, green tax included.

What this actually costs

The Deluxe Room is the cheaper of the two. The Super Deluxe Room has an outdoor toilet and a rain shower, and costs about a twentieth more for the same stay. Prices shown cover two people; tell us who else is travelling and we will add them.

Half board adds dinner and costs about a quarter more than bed and breakfast on a three-night stay. Full board can be added on request.

November to March is the main season. From April to October the same room costs a little less, about 4% on a three-night stay. Prices run to the end of March 2028, so you can book well ahead.

Who this isn’t for

Anyone who wants a drink. Thulusdhoo is an inhabited island and no alcohol is served on it. Dress modestly in the village and away from any beach set aside for swimwear.

The outdoor bathroom in the Super Deluxe Room is part of its appeal, but not to everyone. If you would rather keep everything indoors, choose the Deluxe Room.

Before you book

The shared speedboat runs to a timetable, not to your flight. It leaves Malé at 09:15, 12:30, 16:00, 18:00 and 22:00, calls at Velana airport to collect arriving guests, and then goes on to Thulusdhoo, so you board at the airport and do not need to cross to Malé. It comes back at 08:00, 11:00, 14:15, 17:00 and 20:00. A boat company runs it, so the times can change and we confirm them for your dates. A late evening landing still makes the last boat.

Check-in is at 14:00 and check-out at 10:00. You can stay until 14:00 free if the room is not needed, and a day room can be arranged for a late flight, charged on top.

A third person, adult or child, can share any room for an extra charge. Cancelling 21 days or more before arrival costs half the stay; within 20 days, or if you do not arrive, the whole stay is charged.

Send us your dates, who is travelling and when you land. We will come back within 24 hours with the right room, the boat that fits your flight and one price for the stay.

Tell us your dates and who is travelling

We will price two or three rooms with the shared speedboat and every tax included, and we can quote any dates outside the ones above. We reply within 24 hours.
