The coral directly off Romance island is young, and part of it has been planted rather than grown wild, so guests who come mainly for the snorkelling tend to expect more than they find. What is dependable is the bridge between Romance and the main island. Rays and sharks gather under the lights there after dark and stay for long stretches, which is worth an evening on its own. For a proper swim over older coral, walk across and get in by the dive centre jetty on the main island, where turtles are seen most days and the lagoon is shallow enough to be easy.

Transfers run around the clock, so any arrival time connects and you never need a night in Malé on the way in.
Speedboats run throughout the day and through the night, so a late landing at Velana still reaches the island the same night. Night crossings depend on the weather and the resort's judgement. The resort aims to have you on the boat within two hours of meeting you at the airport.
About the resort
Sun Siyam Romance is an island for adults only, sixteen and over, joined by a bridge you walk across to Sun Siyam Olhuveli next door. After dark, rays and reef sharks gather under the lights on that bridge, and guests stand watching them for an hour.
It is a quiet, short-transfer holiday for couples. The speedboat from Velana takes 45 minutes and runs day and night, so a late landing still reaches the island that evening. All 111 villas have their own pool.
What you pay
Pick your dates and a villa and the price is the whole stay for two adults: full board, the return speedboat and every Maldivian tax.
The earliest dates on this page carry the most extras. They also carry a booking deadline, so ask us whether yours still qualify.
The green season is the cheapest window, about a quarter below the high season for the same four nights. February is the dearest month of all. The later dates carry their own booking deadline, so ask us for it.
All inclusive is an upgrade on top of full board. Outside the offer dates it takes the villa back to its full rate, so we will price both side by side.
What's included, and what isn't
In the price: your villa for two, three meals a day at The Restaurant, forty per cent off the à la carte restaurants on both islands, a spa credit per adult, the return speedboat and every Maldivian tax.
The offer dates add a dolphin cruise, a thali lunch, a couples spa treatment, snorkel gear and a floating breakfast, once each. Other dates add one Lucky Dolphin Cruise for two, except in February.
Not in the price: your international flights, travel insurance, the all-inclusive upgrade, the rest of any à la carte bill, spa treatments beyond the credit, the compulsory Christmas and New Year galas, Indian TCS, and anything not named above.
Who this isn't for
Families. Nobody under sixteen stays on Sun Siyam Romance. Sun Siyam Olhuveli, across the bridge, takes children, and we can book it.
Anyone booking for the snorkelling. The coral off the island is young and partly planted, and it is the one thing guests say they expected more of. For older coral and turtles, walk across and get in by the dive centre jetty on Sun Siyam Olhuveli.
Anyone who needs silence guaranteed. A guest has reported building work within earshot. Ask us what is happening on your dates before you commit.

Every price here is for two adults sharing. The Romantic Beach Villa with Pool is 91 sq m on the sand. The Romantic Water Villa with Pool is 112 sq m over the lagoon.
These prices already carry the resort's discount, so no early booking discount applies on top. February is the exception: ask us whether booking early brings it down. Honeymoon and anniversary extras still apply.
You can split the stay, two nights on the beach and two over the water, priced on request.
Four and seven nights are priced here on most dates. Three nights, or a stay that crosses into the February peak, we price on request.
The festive fortnight is not priced on this page. Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve carry a compulsory gala, and nobody checks out on 30 or 31 December. We can still book it.

Where is Sun Siyam Romance?
In South Male Atoll, 45 minutes from Velana International Airport by speedboat. It is the adults-only island of Sun Siyam Olhuveli, joined to the rest of the resort by a bridge, so you get a quiet island of one hundred and eleven villas with the restaurants, dive centre and reef of a much larger place a walk away.
Is this the same island as TUI Blue Olhuveli Romance?
Yes. The island opened in December 2022 and is still listed on review sites under the TUI Blue name, which is where its own guest reviews live. Today it is sold as Sun Siyam Romance. Same island, same villas, same team.
Is it really adults only?
Yes, and the minimum age is sixteen rather than eighteen, which catches some people out in both directions. No children under sixteen stay on Sun Siyam Romance at all. If you are travelling with family, Sun Siyam Olhuveli next door takes them and we sell that separately.
How do I get there, and is there a cut-off time?
By speedboat, and there is no cut-off. The boats run through the day and through the night, so a late landing at Male still gets you onto the island the same evening rather than into an airport hotel. Night crossings depend on the weather and the resort's judgement, so send us your flight times and we will confirm before you book.
What is included in the price shown?
Full board for two, the return speedboat and every Maldivian tax. That means breakfast, lunch and dinner at The Restaurant, forty per cent off the menu at the a la carte places here and across the bridge, and a fifty dollar spa credit per adult per stay. On offer dates the price also carries a dolphin cruise, a thali lunch, a forty five minute couples spa treatment and a floating breakfast, one of each per stay. Outside those dates it carries one Lucky Dolphin Cruise for the two of you, except in February. Ask us which applies to your dates. Honestly, this is the island's weak point. The coral directly off Romance is young and partly planted, and guests who came for the snorkelling say so. What is reliable is the bridge, where rays and sharks gather under the lights after dark. For a proper swim, cross to the main island and get in by the dive centre jetty.
Beach villa or water villa?
The Romantic Beach Villa with Pool is 91 sq m on the sand, and it is the lower price on every date on this page. The Romantic Water Villa with Pool is 112 sq m over the lagoon. Both have their own pool. On a short stay we usually steer couples to the beach villa. If you want a night or two over the water as well, we can split the stay and price it on request.
Can we split the stay between the two?
Yes, and the resort prices a two-night beach plus two-night water combination directly. It is not priced on this page because the order and the length can move, so tell us your dates and which way round you want it and we will price it.
Can we upgrade to all inclusive?
Yes. All inclusive is an upgrade on top of full board rather than a separate price, and the supplement changes with the season. The resort's villa discounts do not combine with the all-inclusive plan, so the upgrade can move the villa price as well. Tell us your dates and we will price full board and all inclusive side by side before you choose.
Can we book Christmas or New Year?
