What Our Guests Say
Travellers' Choice Best of the Best 2025
Siyam World is amazing
Although the reviews say the reef in Siyam is not the best there were always plenty of sharks, stingrays and turtles to be seen. Snorkelling equipment is also provided free of charge at the dive centre.
The most active and beautiful hotel in Maldives
The reef near Takrai restaurant is lively with plenty of vibrant tropical fish. We've seen sharks, rays and turtles. Snorkelling in this place is wonderful!
7 days of pure bliss!
We did free snorkeling, lucky manta and shark and turtles. We were lucky enough to see them all. The coral was so much better there, we saw so much in terms of fishes and even saw a stingray.
Paradise
We were lucky enough to find a pod of dolphins which was a truly unforgettable experience.
You will enjoy it. You would not cross an atoll for it.
Siyam World is a marine-life island rather than a coral island. The best stretch runs off the overwater jetty near Takrai, the Thai restaurant, where guests report vibrant tropical fish, reef sharks, stingrays and turtles within a short swim. Elsewhere the reef is patchy, and people who snorkel straight off a beach villa tend to call it fine rather than memorable. Coral condition is the weak point here, not the fish. The overwater categories sit closest to the good water, gear is free from the dive centre, and the marine biologist runs a guided snorkel worth taking. Tell us if snorkelling matters and we will place you accordingly.
Getting there
Land at Velana after 15:30 and the last transfer of the day will have gone, which means a night in Malé before you reach the island.
There is a second way in. Domestic flight from Male to Maafaru International Airport (NMF), then a speedboat to the island. This route operates after dark, so it is the one used for late arrivals and early-morning departures., about 30-minute flight plus a short speedboat, for arrivals at Velana up to 24H.
Seaplane guests use the resort's own lounge at the seaplane terminal on arrival, and the resort aims to fly you out within three hours of checking in there. Flight details are needed ten days ahead to hold the seats. Anyone on an international flight leaving Male before 09:00 travels back the previous afternoon. Baggage on both routes is 20 kg checked plus 5 kg cabin.
Transfer details last checked September 2026. We re-check yours against your actual ticket before we quote. See what your flight can reach →
