The island sits on the edge of a long reef, and unusually for the north it has not bleached the way many have: live coral, turtles, eagle rays, nurse sharks. The catch is which side. The best stretch runs between the water villas and the spa, and that is the windward side, choppy enough that we would not send a hesitant swimmer there. Ask about conditions on the day. The Coralarium, an underwater sculpture museum you snorkel over, is unlike anything else in the country.

About the resort
Sirru Fen Fushi Private Lagoon Resort is in Shaviyani Atoll, and unusually for the north, its reef has not bleached the way many have. Live coral, turtles, eagle rays and nurse sharks are all on the house reef. Offshore sits the Coralarium, an underwater sculpture gallery you snorkel over, and there is nothing else like it in the country.
It is a 50 minute seaplane from Velana, and every villa has its own pool and a villa host. This is a holiday for couples and families who want water, space and quiet, and who have the nights to make the flight worth it.
What you pay
Pick your dates and a villa and the price is the whole stay for two adults: the villa, half board or all inclusive, the return seaplane, green tax and every other tax. Nothing more is payable at the resort for those.
The seaplane is the same however long you stay, so length changes everything. Seven nights comes to well under twice the price of three, for more than twice the holiday.
All inclusive adds lunch and the drinks. The step up from half board is a large one, so take it only if you will use both. One plan has to cover everyone travelling together.
Beach or water is a matter of taste here, not budget. The Sunrise Deluxe Beach Villa and the Sunrise Water Villa sit within a few thousand rupees of each other at every length, so choose the setting you want. Full board is not priced on this page, but we can add it.
What's included, and what isn't
In the price: your pool villa for two, breakfast and dinner daily, or on all inclusive every meal plus house wines, beers, spirits, cocktails and mocktails from 11:00 to 23:00, the return shared seaplane, the seaplane lounge at Velana, snorkel gear, kayaks, paddleboards, bicycles, yoga classes, the kids' club, and every Maldivian tax including green tax.
Not in the price: your international flights, travel insurance, lunch and drinks on half board, spa treatments, babysitting, Indian TCS, and anything not named above.
Who this isn't for
Anyone landing at Velana after 15:00. Seaplanes fly in daylight only, so a later arrival means a night in Malé before you reach the island. Choose your international flight with that in mind.
Three-night trips. The seaplane weighs heavily on a short stay. Five nights or more is where Sirru Fen Fushi makes sense.
Hesitant swimmers who want the best of the reef. The richest stretch runs between the water villas and the spa, on the windward side, and it can be too choppy for a nervous snorkeller. Ask about conditions on the day.

Everyone travelling together must be on the same meal plan, and up to five villas can go on one booking. Check-in is at 14:00 and check-out at noon.

How do I get to Sirru Fen Fushi?
Sirru Fen Fushi Private Lagoon Resort is in Shaviyani Atoll, a 50 minute seaplane flight from Velana International Airport in Malé. The return shared seaplane is in the price on this page, and so is the shared seaplane lounge at Velana where you wait before boarding. Seaplanes fly in daylight only, so land at Velana by 15:00 or you spend a night in Malé first.

What meal plans are available?
Half board (breakfast and dinner) and all inclusive are priced on this page. All inclusive adds lunch and selected house wines, beers, spirits, cocktails and mocktails in the restaurants and Onu Onu bar from 11:00 to 23:00. Full board is not priced on this page, but we can add it. Everyone travelling together must be on the same meal plan.
What restaurants and bars are at the resort?
The resort has six dining venues: Raha Market (all-day international buffet), Azure (fine dining with Indian Ocean views), Kata (Japanese-inspired restaurant), Raha Bar & Café (poolside café), Onu Onu (beachfront bamboo bar), and Spice Box (Asian street food on the beach). Bespoke Destination Dining experiences are also available on request.
What is the Coralarium?
The Coralarium is an underwater sculpture gallery offshore from Sirru Fen Fushi Private Lagoon Resort, where live coral grows on submerged art installations. You snorkel over it, and there is nothing else like it in the Maldives. The resort's marine biology team runs guided snorkelling tours of it. Ask us whether the tour is included on your booking.
What is included for every guest?
Every stay includes Wi-Fi, snorkelling gear, kayaks and paddleboards, bicycles, the 24-hour gym, the kids' club for ages 4 to 12, yoga classes, a coconut painting masterclass, the shared seaplane lounge at Velana, your villa host, and tea and coffee in the villa. Is Sirru Fen Fushi suitable for families?
Yes. The kids' club takes children aged 4 to 12 from 09:00 to 18:00, with daily activities such as kids' yoga, sand art and a kids' disco. Every restaurant has a kids' menu, and babysitting can be arranged at a charge. What wellness and spa facilities are available?
The Arufen Spa offers a full range of holistic treatments, aerial yoga, guided meditation and outdoor spa experiences. Additional wellness activities include free yoga classes with a certified instructor, a 24-hour gym with CrossFit and boxing equipment, and a Gazebo Spa Retreat on the beach. Spa treatments are chargeable.
