No reef wall here. Furanafushi is close enough to Male that the coral took a beating. What you get instead is patches of regrowing reef and a coral-planting programme run with Reefscapers that you can book onto and take part in. Fish life is better than the coral suggests: blacktips, turtles and stingrays are routine, and there is a wreck dive off the house reef. The current under the water bungalows can be strong enough to make snorkelling hard work, so check before you get in.

About the resort
Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa is the resort we reach for when a flight lands at midnight. The shared speedboat from Velana takes 15 minutes and runs around the clock, so there is no seaplane cut-off to miss and no night in Malé at either end.
It is a big, busy island in North Malé Atoll, with rooms, cottages and overwater villas, a kids' club and a choice of restaurants. Think easy family holiday or a short first trip, not a hideaway.
What you pay
Pick your dates, your nights and a room or villa, and the price is the whole stay for two adults: bed and breakfast, the return speedboat, green tax and every other tax. Two nights is the shortest stay.
The Island Cottage is the step most families should take. At 70 square metres against the Deluxe Room's 45, it takes two children, and the step up from the room is a modest one.
Over the water you are paying for the deck, not the space. The Overwater Villa is 54 square metres, smaller than a cottage, and priced well above it.
Half board, full board, all inclusive and premium all inclusive are all available but not priced on this page. Tell us which one you want and we will add it to your stay.
What's included, and what isn't
In the price: your room or villa for two adults, daily buffet breakfast, the shared return speedboat from Velana, green tax and every Maldivian tax.
Not in the price: your international flights, travel insurance, lunch, dinner and drinks unless you add a meal plan, excursions, diving, the spa, green tax for children, Indian TCS, and anything not named above.
Who this isn't for
Snorkellers who want a reef wall. The island is close enough to Malé that the coral has taken a beating. You get patches of regrowing reef and a coral-planting programme with Reefscapers you can join. Blacktip sharks, turtles and stingrays are routine, but the current under the overwater villas can make snorkelling hard work.
Anyone after an empty island. With close to two hundred rooms and villas, you will share the beach, the pool and the breakfast buffet.

The festive period is not priced on this page. Christmas Eve carries a compulsory gala dinner and festive rates run into the new year. We can still book it.
Two villas are held on request. The Premium Overwater Villa with Pool, of which there are four, is priced here but confirmed before you pay. The 205 square metre Two Bedroom Overwater Villa with Pool, the only one on the island, is not priced on this page. Ask us about either.
