Sun Siyam Olhuveli

Sun Siyam Olhuveli is in South Malé Atoll, 45 minutes from Velana International Airport by speedboat. It spreads across three connected islands with eight pools between them and more than twenty places to eat and drink. The villas on this page are on Main Island and Dream Island. The third island is Sun Siyam Romance, which is adults only and sold as a separate resort.

By speedboat, and this is the resort's biggest practical advantage: the boats run throughout the day rather than in daylight only, so a late flight into Malé still gets you onto the island the same night. Night crossings depend on the weather and the resort's judgement, so send us your flight times and we will confirm before you book. The resort aims to have you on the boat within two hours of meeting you.

No. Up to two children under fifteen travel free on the speedboat, and the same two stay and eat free when they share your villa. A third child, or a third adult, pays a supplement. Tell us the ages of everyone travelling and we will price the whole stay, speedboat included, before you book.

Full board for two, the return speedboat and every Maldivian tax and service charge. Indian TCS is added separately on the total invoice value, and the current rate is on our Taxes and TCS page. On some dates the price carries more, subject to a booking deadline: a dolphin cruise for two adults and two children, a thali lunch for four once every three nights, a spa credit of fifty dollars per adult, a floating breakfast in the pool villas, and forty per cent off the menu at eight à la carte restaurants.

Because some dates carry a limited India offer with extras attached and others show standard full board without them. Part of the step is the season and part is the offer. Outside the offer dates, book sixty days ahead and the resort takes fifteen per cent off the villa, or ten per cent at thirty days. The prices on this page are before that discount, and we apply it when you book.

Main Island has the arrival jetty, the dive centre and most of the restaurants and bars. Dream Island is across the water, quieter, with its own buffet restaurant. The Grand Beach Suite with Pool exists on both at the same price, so tell us which you prefer and we will place you.

Yes, and the place to get in is by the dive centre jetty. Guests report turtles in the lagoon they can swim with, rays, blacktip sharks and moray eels, and there is a lit deck at the end of that jetty called Manta Point where mantas pass after dark. The coral is patchy rather than pristine and parts of the lagoon are marked off for protection or for current.

It is one of the strongest family islands we sell, and the short transfer is a large part of why. Two children under fifteen go free on the boat, free on the room and free on the meal plan, there is the Maakanaa Kidz Club, eight pools and a huge shallow lagoon for watersports. The overwater villas are not recommended for young children because of the layout.

Not from the prices on this page: the festive fortnight is not priced here. Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve carry compulsory gala dinners, regular menus and in-villa dining are withdrawn on those nights, and no check-out is permitted on 30 or 31 December. Ask us and we will price those dates.
