About the resort
Pullman Maldives Maamutaa is reached by a 55-minute domestic flight from Velana to Kooddoo and then 15 minutes by speedboat, not by seaplane. For flights from India that matters: a Velana landing as late as 23:40 still reaches the island the same night.
It is a big, lively all inclusive island in Gaafu Alifu Atoll, far south of Malé, with a resident DJ and a live band most evenings. The house reef is in better condition than almost anywhere we see, for anyone who can swim out to it.
What you pay
Pick your dates, a villa and the number of nights, and the price is the whole stay for two: the villa, all inclusive meals and drinks, the domestic flight and speedboat both ways, and every tax, green tax included.
Stay longer than three nights. The flight and the boat are the same on three nights as on seven, so each night after the third adds less than the first three. In a Beach Villa, five nights come to about half again more than three, not nearly double.
The Ocean Villa is the first step over the water, less than a tenth above the Beach Villa on five nights.
Book 60 days ahead and Pullman takes twenty per cent off, or twenty-five per cent at 90 days. It turns on the day you book, so the prices on this page are before it. We apply it.

The festive fortnight is not priced on this page. Two gala dinners are compulsory, US$320 and US$600 per adult, five nights is the shortest stay, and nobody checks out on 31 December. We can still book it.

Kayaking, paddleboarding and snorkelling start at age five. Babysitting is charged. The island is busy, with music most evenings, which suits most families. What are the check-in and check-out times?

Excursion prices are quoted before ten per cent service and seventeen per cent tax, so add roughly thirty per cent to anything you are quoted.
