Atmosphere Kanifushi Maldives

In Lhaviyani Atoll, 35 minutes north of Velana International Airport by seaplane. Atmosphere Kanifushi sits on a strip of sand about 2.8 km long and only 90 m wide, with one unbroken beach running its length. There are 162 villas in nine categories, some on the beach and some over the water.

By seaplane, 35 minutes from Velana International Airport, operated by Trans Maldivian. Seaplanes fly in daylight only, roughly 06:00 to 16:00, so your international flight has to land by 15:45. Land later, or arrive at night, and you spend the first night in Male at your own expense. Going home, the resort cannot move you for an international departure before 08:45, so those guests travel back to Male the previous afternoon. No, and this is the single most important thing to know about Atmosphere Kanifushi. There is a reef, but it sits at a steep drop-off with rough water over it, so it is reached by boat rather than swum to. What you get instead is unlimited free snorkelling boats, twice a day at 09:30 and 14:30, to a rotation of five nearby sites where turtles and reef sharks are common. Six places to eat, premium spirits, wine and cocktails, and a minibar restocked daily. On a stay of four nights or more it also carries one a la carte dinner per person at The Sunset or Pier Six, one 45-minute spa treatment per adult, a sunset cruise, sunset fishing, one island excursion, unlimited snorkelling boats and non-motorised watersports. Teppanyaki, shisha, the White Beach BBQ and in-villa dining are charged.

Because the rates themselves are built on four, and so is almost everything included. The spa treatment, the fine-dining dinner, the excursions and the honeymoon extras all begin at four nights. A three-night stay carries a supplement that no offer reduces, so you pay more per night and get less. We will book three nights, we just price them for you.

In the Kanifushi Grand Pool Villa and the Kanifushi Residence, two children aged two to eleven stay and eat free on most dates, subject to a booking deadline. They pay only the government's green tax. In the other villas children are charged. The two-bedroom Sunset Family Beach Villa is priced for four people from the start. Yes, and unusually for the Maldives there is no compulsory gala dinner on either night. Those dates are priced on this page at their own rate. One thing to plan around: no offer applies to them.

Yes, and it is a booking deadline rather than a travel deadline: book in time and the travel window runs well over a year beyond it. Ask us to confirm both dates for your trip. After the deadline we price on request until the resort issues its next offer.
