Our stay at Canareef Resort was truly memorable

We had a wonderful stay at Canareef Resort. From the moment we arrived, the reception team welcomed us with bright smiles and genuine warmth. The excellent food, stunning surroundings, and relaxing bike rides around the island made the experience even more memorable. We were also delighted with a complimentary room upgrade — the room was absolutely beautiful. A special thank you to the housekeeping team for thoughtfully checking in to see if we needed anything, which made us feel truly cared for. We highly recommend Canareef Resort and can't wait to return.

Unforgettable vacation

Very beautiful hotel with magnificent rooms and wonderful staff. We will recommend this establishment to anyone wanting to visit the Maldives. Chérif, the person who took care of our room, was very efficient and above all very attentive. Not to mention Bianca, our representative, who was always very available with rare professionalism and exceptional kindness. Great sadness to leave you. — Bruno and Angélique

Great place to relax

Great place for a family vacation. The island itself is great — shark feeding at the dock at 5:45pm, turtles swimming to Barracuda beach bar, crab races at Dhoni Bar. Beautiful reefs with awesome fish (snorkelling at the highest level). We took a bungalow in a quiet and peaceful lagoon. The food is pretty good overall. Overall the experience is great, I will definitely try to get to Canareef again.

Canareef Resort Maldives

Regular price₹ 161,900
/
Double occupancy, 3 nights, return domestic flight and speedboat transfers from Malé, service charge, GST and green tax included · valid until 30 Sep 2026

The Asia & Middle East offer, three board bases

Canareef has released its Asia and Middle East rate for stays from 1 November 2026 through to 31 October 2027, on half board, full board and all inclusive. Three nights in a Sunrise Villa on half board works out at ₹1,53,600 for two people including flights down from Malé and back. That is the cheapest resort week we sell on this site by some distance.

Pick your villa, then pick your package — board basis and travel dates sit together in the second dropdown, because on this rate they move together. Minimum stay is three nights.

Fly into Gan and the transfer is free

This is the single most useful thing to know about Canareef, and it is worth more than any villa upgrade.

The resort sits in Addu Atoll, the southernmost in the country, next to Gan International Airport. Arrive at Gan and the transfer is a short speedboat, free of charge. Arrive at Malé and you need a domestic flight plus a speedboat, at USD 530 per adult return.

Every price on this page includes the Malé route — USD 1,060 for two, around ₹1,09,000 — because that is how most Indian itineraries are built. If you can route through Gan instead, take roughly that much straight off the figures below. Tell us your departure city and we will price both ways before you book anything.

What this actually costs

Every figure is the total for two adults for three nights, including the villa, the meal plan, return Malé transfers for two, service charge, GST and green tax. International flights to the Maldives are not included.

Travel period Half board Full board All inclusive

24 Dec 2026 – 6 Jan 2027 ₹2,11,600 ₹2,24,600 ₹2,44,000

1 – 31 Oct 2027 ₹1,74,000 ₹1,85,100 ₹2,01,700

Two things to read off those tables. The gap between the three villas is small — about ₹20,000 from the entry Sunrise Villa to the Premium Beach Villa with Whirlpool over three nights, because the transfer is a fixed lump in every figure. Upgrading the villa is cheap here in a way it is not at most resorts. And the gap between half board and all inclusive is about ₹30,000 per couple, which on a beach-and-diving holiday where you are on the island all day is usually money well spent.

Extra nights are quotable and cheaper per night than the first three, since the transfer is already paid.

Festive dates carry a compulsory surcharge

The 24 December to 6 January band is priced above, but two nights inside it carry a supplement the resort adds on top, whichever meal plan you are on:

  • Christmas Eve, 24 December 2026 — USD 140 per adult, USD 70 per child aged 6 to 11.99
  • New Year's Eve, 31 December 2026 — USD 180 per adult, USD 90 per child aged 6 to 11.99

These are compulsory, not optional gala tickets. If your stay crosses either date, add them. Cancellation terms are also stricter across the festive window — see below.

What is included

Inside every rate: the villa, buffet meals to your chosen plan in the main restaurant Kilhi, and service charge, GST and green tax. On top of that, all guests get:

  • A complimentary dolphin watching excursion, one per person per stay — Addu is genuinely good for this
  • Meet and greet at both Malé and Gan, and welcome refreshments on arrival
  • Free Wi-Fi in the villas, reception and all outlets
  • Drinking water in the villa, replenished daily, and housekeeping twice a day
  • Free use of the swimming pools, gym, tennis court, beach volleyball, billiards and table tennis

One thing to be clear about. The meal plan is buffet dining at Kilhi. Canareef's other restaurants and bars are à la carte and charged separately. Ask us what the all-inclusive covers on drinks before you assume — we will get it in writing for your dates rather than guess.

Honeymoons

A cake in the villa during the stay, flower bed decoration and a fruit basket on arrival, and a 750ml bottle of white or red wine. No minimum stay beyond the three-night minimum, so every package here qualifies.

The resort asks for certified documents dated within the last twelve months, sent at the time of reservation, not produced at check-in. Tell us when you book and we will attach them.

Children and extra guests

  • Infants 0 to 1.99 stay free of charge.
  • Infants 2 to 5.99 pay USD 12 per night, which is the green tax.
  • Children 6 to 11.99 pay a per-night child rate that varies with the board basis.
  • Extra adults pay a per-night supplement. A single traveller gets a room reduction rather than paying the double rate.
  • Children 2 to 11.99 also pay a transfer fare on the Malé route; infants under 2 are free.

Send us your party and we will put the real numbers in your costing rather than publish a grid that goes stale.

The diving is the reason to come this far

Be straight about the house reef: it is not why you book Canareef. There is one good stretch at the beach bar end where the water is shallow and the fish life is genuinely good. Beyond that the sunset side is sandy and barely two metres deep a long way out, and the sunrise side is rocky and choppy. There is a paid trip to a better reef at a neighbouring resort.

What Addu actually offers is some of the healthiest coral in the Maldives, over 27 dive sites, manta cleaning stations, and the British Loyalty — a WWII tanker wreck you can swim inside. Add the Bodu Hoholha caves and a resident population of dolphins. Come as a diver, or come for the quiet and the length of that beach.

Cancellation and payment

Stays between 24 December 2026 and 6 January 2027: free to 30 days before arrival; 50% between 30 and 15 days; 100% inside 15 days or on a no-show.

All other stays: free to 14 days before arrival; 50% between 14 and 8 days; 100% inside 8 days or on a no-show.

Early departure is charged in full either way. Payment is due in full 15 days before arrival. Note that card payments carry a 3.5% surcharge at the resort's end — factor it in, or pay by transfer.

Who this isn't for

Anyone whose Maldives picture is an overwater villa. Canareef has none — all three categories are on the beach, and the Premium Beach Villa's whirlpool is the top of the range.

It is also the wrong island if you want a short hop from the airport and a world-class house reef outside your door. Addu is a domestic flight beyond Malé unless you can fly into Gan, and the snorkelling is ordinary. What you get in exchange is a very long beach, real quiet, serious diving, and a price that is roughly half what the central atolls charge.

Offer conditions

  • Valid for Asia and Middle East nationals only, and for individual bookings — groups of ten rooms or more are priced separately.
  • Not combinable with contract rates or any other special offer.
  • Every booking must be marked with the offer code or the rate will not be applied.
  • The resort can withdraw the offer at any time on notice to the agent.

House reef 2/5 Thin

Little or nothing to snorkel off the beach. Some islands in this band run a free boat to a reef — the note below says whether this one does.

One good stretch, at the beach bar end, where the water is shallow and the fish life is genuinely good. Beyond that the sunset side is sandy and no more than two metres deep a long way out, and the sunrise side is rocky and choppy. There is a paid trip to a better reef at a neighbouring resort.
