Our stay at Anantara Kihavah was truly exceptional and easily one of the most memorable resort experiences we've had in the Maldives. A special mention must go to our wonderful butler, whose service was incredible throughout our stay. He was attentive, thoughtful and always one step ahead of us, making everything feel effortless. Blissful Kihavah!

My husband, 23 year old daughter and I have just enjoyed a blissful week at gorgeous Anantara Kihavah. For context, we have stayed at 9 other Maldivian resorts. The island is spectacularly beautiful — gorgeous jungly interior with majestically tall palms, all beautifully maintained, ringed by a soft sand beach and then by a truly exceptional reef. The reef circles the whole island and the coral is diverse, abundant and healthy. It is a very fishy reef. On most snorkelling jaunts we saw a turtle or two and a shark or two. We saw a couple of eels and three octopuses during our stay, and frequently saw rays around our water villa.

Best of Maldives — the 2026 India offer

Anantara Kihavah has put its India-market rate on the table for stays between 1 August and 10 October 2026, and it is the strongest package we have seen from this resort. Complimentary half board for two, return shared seaplane transfers, and one four-course lunch for two at SEA, the underwater restaurant, are all inside the price. Three nights in a Beach Pool Villa works out at ₹5,35,100 for two people, all in from Malé.

Bookings for this offer close on 30 September 2026. Minimum stay is three nights.

Two things worth noticing. The Overwater Pool Villa and the One Bedroom Family Beach Pool Villa price identically — so a couple who wants the water and a family who wants the space pay the same, and the choice is purely about what you want from the stay. And the step from three nights to four is roughly ₹1,15,000 to ₹1,65,000, while the step from five to six is about the same. There is no length-of-stay discount buried in this offer; the extra nights cost what they cost.

Not in the price: alcohol and soft drinks, lunch, spa, excursions, and anything at SEA beyond the one included lunch. Kihavah is not a cheap island to drink on. Budget for it honestly.

What the package includes

  • Complimentary half board for two adults. Breakfast at PLATES, and dinner from a three-course à la carte selection at SPICE, MANZARU or PLATES.
  • One four-course lunch for two at SEA, the underwater restaurant, per villa. On the resort's own supplement list a five-course lunch at SEA is USD 466 per adult, so this single inclusion carries most of the offer's value.
  • Return shared seaplane transfers for two adults, Velana International to the island and back.
  • A 30-minute photoshoot with the resort photographer, once during your stay, with ten images delivered digitally. Book it at least 48 hours before departure. Extra images are USD 10 each.

Read the meal plan carefully. Meal plans here are food only — drinks are not included with dinner. If you want to eat at FIRE, the Japanese teppanyaki restaurant, or at SEA beyond your included lunch, you get a USD 50 per person credit towards the bill rather than a free meal. In-villa dining, Dining by Design, Cooking Class, Cinema under the Stars and Stargazing dinners sit outside the meal plan entirely and are charged in full.

Honeymoon, anniversary and birthday benefits

A bottle of champagne, a welcome amenity, a bath ritual with rose petals one evening, and bed decoration. Confirm the occasion when you book, not on arrival. Honeymoon dates must fall within twelve months of the wedding and the resort asks for a marriage certificate. Anniversaries and birthdays must fall inside your stay dates.

Children and extra guests

The package price covers two people per villa. Beyond that:

  • Children 0–11 pay no accommodation supplement. Green tax is USD 12 per child per night.
  • Each extra adult, 12 and over, is USD 300 net per day. That figure includes the extra bed and green tax.
  • Return seaplane transfers are USD 425 for children 2–11 and USD 850 for anyone 12 and over.

The two One Bedroom Family villas are the ones built for this. The resort's Two Bedroom villas and its Residences are not part of this offer — if you need one, ask us and we will price it separately.

The house reef — the Golden Wall

This is the reason experienced snorkellers choose Kihavah. The reef circles the entire island, so you get in wherever you like instead of queuing at one ladder. The resort commissioned a marine survey between 2022 and 2023 that recorded over 300 fish species and more than 130 corals, and published the findings as a book, Wonders of Kihavah. A resident marine biologist runs guided sessions.

Guests reliably report turtles and reef sharks on most snorkels, plus eels, octopus and rays off the water villas. One trade-off: the sand is grittier than the photographs suggest. That is what happens when a reef sits this close to the beach, and it is the price of the snorkelling.

SEA. FIRE. SPICE. SKY.

SEA sits six metres below the surface — an underwater restaurant and wine cellar, and the only underwater caviar restaurant anywhere. FIRE is Japanese teppanyaki. SPICE covers Asian and Maldivian cooking. SKY is the Maldives' first overwater observatory, where a resident SKY Insider runs stargazing sessions with a telescope and, if you want them, zodiac-themed cocktails. MANZARU does Mediterranean poolside and PLATES handles all-day dining and breakfast.

New at Kihavah for 2026

  • The Beach Pool Villas have been fully renovated, reopening from July 2025 with a lighter palette, larger outdoor salas and reworked interiors. If you looked at Kihavah a few years ago and chose the water villas because the beach villas felt dated, look again.
  • Over Water Pool Villas were renovated in 2024 — bigger decks, floor-to-ceiling doors onto the infinity pool, and a glass-bottomed bathtub.
  • A semi-open paddle court, inaugurated by former world number one Angelique Kerber.
  • Magnesium wellness journeys at the overwater spa, a collection of five rituals and the first magnesium-based treatments in the Maldives.
  • An Anantara-branded seaplane, available for private charter if you would rather not share the flight.

Getting there

Kihavah is in Baa Atoll, 125 km from Velana International Airport, reached by a 35-minute seaplane flight. Seaplanes fly in daylight only, so an evening arrival into Malé means a night in the city before you reach the island. Book a morning or early-afternoon flight from India and you keep the resort night you paid for.

Send us your flight details at least four days ahead so the seaplane seats are held. Guests use the VIP seaplane lounge at Velana while they wait.

Who this isn't for

This is a half-board package, not all-inclusive. If your idea of a Maldives holiday is a wristband and an open bar, Kihavah will feel expensive by day three — its lowest TripAdvisor sub-score is value, and drinks are why. Look at a genuine all-inclusive instead and we will happily show you two or three.

It is also a quiet island. There is no nightlife beyond a cocktail under the stars. Families with two children who want their own room need a Two Bedroom villa or a Residence, neither of which is in this offer. And if you cannot swim confidently, much of what makes Kihavah special is happening just out of reach — a resort with a gentle lagoon may serve you better.
