What Our Guests Say

Rated Travellers' Choice on TripAdvisor

Pure Paradise, Exquisite Dining & Unforgettable Family Memories with Hajar!

We just returned from an absolute dream family vacation at Amilla Maldives with our 7-year-old child, and it exceeded every expectation! The island's natural beauty is unreal—lush jungle greenery, pristine powder-white beaches, and crystal-clear turquoise waters rich with marine life. It felt like playing in a tropical paradise. The culinary experience was another massive highlight. Every meal was delicious, especially the authentic local Maldivian dishes and fresh seafood. Above all, what made our trip truly special was our amazing butler, Hajar. She took exceptional care of all three of us throughout our stay! Hajar was warm, thoughtful, and incredibly attentive—especially toward our child. Thank you, Hajar, and the Amilla team for giving our family memories that we will cherish forever.

Warm home at Amilla!

Our butler Hajar was very caring, friendly and helpful. The food in Amilla also had a great quality. Overall, the experience was excellent.

Room and service

Reef villa is very good. It is close to the trench. There are many fish. You can see the fish when you jump in the morning. My housekeeper Monika is great and the service is very considerate. I like her. The room was cleaned very cleanly, and the water and bath towels were replenished in time.

We had a wonderful and fulfilling trip. My wife and I really enjoyed our holiday. We'd like to express our gratitude to our Chinese-speaking butler Monica for her amazing service. The housekeeping staff were also very friendly. Highly recommended!

Villa Categories

Four one-bedroom categories are on this rate. All take two adults as standard.

  • Water Pool Villa — 220 sqm, pool 7.2 × 2 m. Ten of them, and the entry point to the island. Maximum three adults, or two adults and one child.
  • Lagoon Water Pool Villa — 220 sqm, pool 4.7 × 4.2 m. Over the lagoon with direct water access. Nine units. Maximum three adults, or two adults and two children.
  • Reef Water Pool Villa — 220 sqm, pool 4.7 × 4.2 m. Sits above the house reef, and the ladder drops you straight onto it. Twenty-three units, so the easiest of the over-water rooms to get. Maximum three adults, or two adults and two children.
  • Beach Pool Villa — 470 sqm, pool 9.5 × 3.8 m. More than twice the footprint of the water villas. Six units only. Maximum three adults, or two adults and one child.

If you want the reef, take a Reef Water Pool Villa. If you want space, the Beach Pool Villa is the largest room on this rate by a wide margin. Larger two-bedroom villas and the residences exist and are quoted separately.

What this actually costs

Pick your villa and your travel dates from the two dropdowns above and the price updates to that combination. Every figure is per villa, two adults sharing, four nights on bed and breakfast, with return shared seaplane transfers for two. The 10% service charge, 17% GST and the green tax are all inside it.

Travel periods run from now to 19 December 2027, across the resort’s two contract years. Prices move by season rather than smoothly: the cheapest window is May to June 2027 and September 2027, the dearest is January to April 2027.

What is not in the price: lunch and dinner. This is a bed and breakfast rate, not all-inclusive, which is the main thing to understand before comparing it with the Emerald or OUTRIGGER packages on this site. Half board and full board upgrades are available per adult per night, as are non-alcoholic and premium beverage packages. Ask us and we will put the current numbers inside your costing.

Festive travel is not sold through this page. The resort requires a minimum five-night stay in a villa for arrivals between 24 December 2026 and 10 January 2027, and again between 20 December 2027 and 10 January 2028, so a four-night booking will be refused in either window. There is no check-out on 31 December and no check-in on 1 January in either year. On top of that, a compulsory supplement applies on two nights: USD 600 per adult on Christmas Eve and USD 950 per adult on New Year’s Eve on a bed and breakfast rate, with reduced rates for children aged 4 to 11.99 and no charge for under-fours. If you are travelling over the festive period, message us and we will build it properly.

You will also notice a gap in the travel period list between late December 2026 and 11 January 2027. That is the festive window plus the changeover between the resort’s two contract years, and it is deliberate.

A third adult, or children, can share a one-bedroom villa within the maximums above. Under-fours stay free; children from four upward carry a per-night charge, and everyone aged two and above pays the green tax and the seaplane regardless. A maximum of one rollaway bed and one sofa bed, or two baby cots, per villa.

Worth knowing about the seaplane: it flies in daylight only. Your inbound flight needs to land at Malé before 15:00, and for the return your onward flight has to depart after 09:00. The resort openly recommends booking the night before an early departure or after a late arrival, and we would rather tell you that now than after you have booked the flights.

What’s included

These come with every villa, all year:

  • Daily breakfast at Fresh Restaurant
  • Daily personalised turndown service and amenities
  • Non-motorised water sports and snorkelling equipment
  • Wi-Fi across the island
  • Weekly activities, to the resort’s published programme
  • Ice cream, at a selected outlet and time
  • Personalised bicycles and a yoga mat
  • A Guest Experience Maker for every villa, and a shared butler (Katheeb/a)
  • Amilla Seaplane Lounge access on arrival and departure, until 8pm
  • Kids Club for children aged 4 to 12
  • Tea, Nespresso coffee, Amilla water and selected snacks in the villa

Honeymoon, anniversary and birthday

Four nights is the minimum, and this package is four nights, so these apply. At four nights you get:

  • A bottle of wine on arrival
  • One romantic turndown during the stay
  • A 30-minute add-on to any 60-minute spa treatment you purchase

Stay longer and the list grows. At seven nights the resort adds a surprise excursion chosen by your butler and a three-course romantic dinner set up on the beach, and for 2027 travel a romantic bubble bath with champagne or wine. At ten nights it adds a floating breakfast and a 60-minute spa treatment for the couple. If you are close to one of those thresholds, tell us and we will show you what the extra nights buy.

Birthdays count too, for 2027 travel. A cake on the day, a bottle of champagne and bed decoration, where the birthday falls within the stay or in the fourteen days before arrival.

Two conditions catch people out. The wedding certificate has to be presented at the time of booking, not on arrival. And the wedding must have taken place within six months before your arrival date. For anniversaries, the date has to fall within 30 days of your arrival, before or after. The benefits cannot be exchanged or refunded, but they do combine with other applicable offers.

If you have stayed at Amilla before, say so. Returning guests get 5% off the room rate all year, and for 2027 stays that carries a long list with it: a bottle of wine or champagne, a private guided Blue Hole snorkel, a 30-minute signature massage each, sundowners sent to the villa, 20% off spa treatments, 10% off excursions, 30 pieces of laundry, and a choice of one extra experience — a private dinner with the chef, a wine club evening, a private cinema on the beach, or 55% off a photoshoot. It is the best-value clause in the contract and the easiest to forget to claim.

Dining

  • Bed & Breakfast – Complimentary breakfast at Fresh restaurant; semi-buffet & à la carte
  • Half Board – Three-course dinner at any open restaurant. From 2027 this excludes Feeling Koi, the signature restaurant, and weekly themed dinners, where a USD 100 per adult dinner credit applies instead

  • Non-Alcoholic Beverage Package – Beverages during meals and from in-villa mini-bar

House reef 4/5 Strong

Worth choosing the resort for. One or two caveats on entry point or current.

The reef rings the entire island and the Reef Villas drop a ladder straight onto it. Guests on their fourth or fifth Maldives trip pick Amilla for this specifically: turtles, eagle rays and four species of shark are routine, and there is a natural Blue Hole a short boat ride out. Best water is off the overwater reef villas. The beach entry is separately good for children: easy, sandy, no coral underfoot. Guests report that only the first guided snorkel is included, so we will confirm that with the resort when we quote you.
