What Our Guests Say

Rated Travellers' Choice on TripAdvisor

Beautiful resort with one sole caveat!

Baros Maldives is a beautiful island. Staff, food, rooms, service all exemplary. Wish menu at Lime included a buffet once or twice a week as becomes samey. Main caveat is the resort is 53 years old so there has been a lot of development off the island. In the distance but still visible. Would highly recommend if this is not an issue.

We were on vacation together... Beautiful place. Cozy green island, great swimming lagoon, decent reef — variety of fish and clams — all super! The fast boat transfer (30 minutes), water, drinks are all there. Good villas, cleanliness, cleaning twice a day. The menu meals are high quality, delicious. There are restaurants à la carte — grill, Japanese, Mediterranean cuisine — all super. I want to come back again.

Our Amazing Stay at Baros Maldives: Pure Paradise

We had an amazing stay at Baros Maldives! The location is stunning, with crystal-clear water and beautiful surroundings. The atmosphere is peaceful, and the rooms are beautiful, comfortable, and spotless. The resort offers excellent amenities, great value, a quiet noise level, and outstanding cleanliness throughout. A very special thank you to Sujata for taking such wonderful care of us — her exceptional service truly made our trip unforgettable. Thank you also to San & Lama for their wonderful service at the restaurant. We highly recommend this beautiful resort.

It's been a good vacation.

The pool was very good, both in the ocean and in the rooms. I especially liked the thoughtfulness of Salini, the butler. You can see sharks on snorkelling and there are many big fish. I'd like to visit again.

Baros Maldives

Regular price₹ 272,000
/
Double occupancy, 3 nights (4 nights on split stays), return shared speedboat transfers, service charge, GST and green tax included · valid until 22 Dec 2026

The India Market package, half board or full board

Baros has released its India rate for stays to 22 December 2026, on half board and full board, with the 25-minute shared speedboat included both ways. Three nights in a Deluxe Beach Villa on half board comes to ₹2,72,000 for two people, all in from Malé.

Pick your villa, then pick your package — board basis and travel dates sit together in the second dropdown, because on this rate they move together.

The transfer is the quiet advantage

Baros is 25 minutes by speedboat from Velana, and the boat runs around the clock. No daylight cut-off, no overnight in Malé, no lost resort night if your flight from India lands at 23:00. On a three-night trip that is worth more than most people realise: at a seaplane island, a late arrival costs you a third of the holiday.

What this actually costs

Every figure is the total for two adults for the whole stay, including the meal plan, return shared speedboat transfers, the 10% service charge, 17% T-GST and the USD 12 per person per night green tax. Flights to Malé are not included.

The five single-villa packages are three nights. The five split stays are four nights — two in one villa, two in another. Baros sets a three-night minimum on this rate, so there is no two-night version.

Full board

Villa 1 Aug – 30 Sep 1 Oct – 22 Dec
Deluxe Beach Villa · 3 nights ₹3,07,800 ₹3,45,500
Water Villa · 3 nights ₹3,88,400 ₹4,32,200
Baros Pool Villa · 3 nights ₹3,97,700 ₹4,61,900
Water Pool Villa · 3 nights ₹4,23,300 ₹4,90,000

2n Deluxe Beach + 2n Water Pool Villa · 4 nights ₹4,87,400 ₹5,56,900
2n Baros Pool + 2n Water Villa · 4 nights ₹5,24,000 ₹5,96,000
2n Baros Pool + 2n Water Pool Villa · 4 nights ₹5,47,300 ₹6,34,500
2n Baros Suite with Pool + 2n Water Pool Villa · 4 nights ₹6,25,100 ₹7,25,300

Two things to read off that. August and September are materially cheaper than October onwards — about ₹48,000 less on the entry villa and nearly ₹94,000 less on the Baros Suite. And full board adds roughly ₹36,000 per couple over three nights, which is close to what lunch for two actually costs at Cayenne. If you plan to be on the island rather than out on excursions, it is close to a wash; take it for the convenience, not the saving.

Included in every package

  • Return shared speedboat transfers, 25 minutes each way, available around the clock.
  • 24-hour villa butler service.
  • Wi-Fi throughout, premium teas and a Nespresso machine in the villa, daily water and fresh fruit, turndown service.
  • Daily morning yoga and complimentary snorkelling gear for the whole stay.
  • Early check-in and late check-out, subject to availability.

Half board and full board — what actually differs

Half board gives you breakfast and dinner at Lime, both buffet and à la carte. It also carries a one-time floating breakfast (pool villas) or in-villa breakfast for two, a one-time sunset cruise for two, and a 30% discount on food at Cayenne and the Lighthouse — which matters, because the Lighthouse is the reason a lot of people book Baros.

Full board adds lunch at Lime or Cayenne on a set menu, and a weekly theme-night buffet at the Palm Garden. It keeps the floating breakfast and the sunset cruise, keeps the 25% spa and shisha discounts, but drops the 30% dine-around discount, since you are already eating on the plan.

One catch worth knowing. Full board includes a dinner at The Lighthouse — but only on stays of four nights or more. The three-night full-board packages here do not get it. If the Lighthouse is what you came for, either take a four-night split stay, or take half board and use the 30% discount.

Honeymoons and anniversaries

Baros gates its honeymoon benefits at three nights, and the minimum stay on this rate is three nights — so every package here qualifies. You get a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolates in the villa on arrival, a honeymoon photo in a Baros frame, a candlelit dinner for two on a set menu, and romantic bed decoration with special turndown once during the stay.

Better still, this package is combinable with the separate Baros Honeymoon Offer and Anniversary benefits for celebrating guests, on stays of three nights and above. It is not combinable with any other contracted or tactical offer. Tell us you are celebrating at the time of booking and we will stack what can legitimately be stacked.

The house reef

One of the genuinely great reefs in the Maldives, and unusually it works for nervous swimmers and confident ones alike. A sea wall about fifty feet out creates a calm protected zone with coral patches and plenty of fish inside it; swim through the gaps and you are on the drop-off, with turtles, blacktips and whitetips. Coral is regrowing well, including on the wave breakers, and there is a sunken boat at the southern end.

Two honest notes. Wear something on your feet inside the wall — there is broken coral. And the sea can get rough, so ask at the Marine Centre before you go out. The dive centre is PADI five-star and has been running since 1979.

Children

This package prices an extra child at 8 to 11 years only, and an extra adult beyond that. Baros is an island that suits couples and older children rather than toddlers, and there is no kids' club. If you are travelling with younger children, say so and we will either quote it properly or point you at an island that is built for it.

Cancellation and payment

  • Free cancellation up to 31 days before arrival.
  • 15 to 30 days before arrival: 50% of the total stay.
  • 0 to 14 days before arrival: 100% of the total stay.
  • Early check-out, changes and no-shows are charged in full as per the original reservation.

The 31-day free-cancellation window is generous by Maldives standards and worth weighing against resorts that hold you from 45 days out.

Who this isn't for

Families with small children — see above. Anyone who wants a big resort with several pools, a water park and a long list of bars: Baros is 75 villas on a small island and the pace is deliberately quiet. And if a totally uninterrupted horizon matters to you, note that Baros is 53 years old and sits close to Malé, so there is development visible in the distance. Guests who mind, mind. Most do not.

Booking terms worth knowing

  • Minimum three nights. Split stays such as 2+1, or any combination beyond 2+2, are priced with the extra-night rate — ask us and we will build it.
  • New bookings only. Existing reservations cannot be cancelled and rebooked onto this offer.
  • Not combinable with any other contracted or tactical offer, apart from the honeymoon and anniversary benefits above.
  • Baros can change or stop the offer on three days' written notice; confirmed pre-paid bookings stand.
  • Any change to government taxes applies to new bookings from the date the resort notifies it.

House reef 5/5 Exceptional

Live coral within swimming distance of the beach, reliably good fish life, safe entry.

One of the genuinely great reefs, and unusually it works for both ends of the confidence scale. A sea wall about fifty feet out makes a calm protected zone with coral patches and plenty of fish inside it; swim through the gaps and you are on the drop-off with turtles, blacktips and whitetips. Guests point to the deluxe villas at the low numbers as closest to the reef, and we will confirm which ones for your dates. Coral is regrowing well, including on the wave breakers, and there is a sunken boat at the southern end. Wear something on your feet inside the wall, there is broken coral. The sea can get rough, so ask before you go out.
