An Exceptional Family Stay Made Truly Memorable by Mena
We spent five nights at The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort with our family, and the entire experience was exceptional from beginning to end.

The St Regis Maldives Vommuli is a beautiful property with top quality service.
The Worlds Greatest Service and Snorkeling
Snorkeling included all types of fish, eels, turtles, eagle ray, sting ray, porcupine ray, nurse shark, black tip shark, etc. The best snorkeling was between marina and the overwater villas.
Worth choosing the resort for. One or two caveats on entry point or current.
Vommuli's reef is the reason to pick it. From an overwater villa you climb down the ladder straight into it, and the best water runs between the marina and the overwater villas, with a second good stretch off the Whale Bar and the watersports area. Guests report blacktip and whitetip reef sharks, turtles, eagle rays, stingrays, moray eels and big schools of fish, with visibility at the drop-off often past twenty metres. Two honest caveats. The coral on one side is still patchy after an old bleaching event and is recovering rather than pristine, and parts of the lagoon are shallow enough to be awkward, with coral underfoot on some stretches of beach. Bring reef shoes, and ask us which villa numbers sit closest to the good water.
Getting there
Land at Velana after 15:30 and the last transfer of the day will have gone, which means a night in Malé before you reach the island.
Shared seaplane with Trans Maldivian Airways, about 45 minutes each way. They fly in daylight only, roughly 06:00 to 16:00, so your international flight has to land at Velana at or before 15:30 to reach the island the same day. Later than that means a night in Male at your own cost and a seaplane the following morning. Going home, the seaplane serves international flights leaving from 09:00. A St. Regis airport butler meets you and takes you to their lounge, and the wait is usually about two hours. Baggage is 30 kg per person including hand luggage, plus one small cabin bag, and excess is charged by the kilo. Extra adults beyond the villa's base occupancy pay for their own seat; children two to eleven are half price under the family offer and infants travel free.
