Milaidhoo Maldives

A 35-minute seaplane from Malé puts you in Baa Atoll, inside the UNESCO biosphere reserve and minutes from Hanifaru Bay. Milaidhoo is small: 50 villas and residences on an island 300m by 180m, with its own protected reef.

We sell two villa types here and both are enormous. The Beach Pool Villa is 290 sqm with a 36 sqm freshwater infinity pool. The Water Pool Villa is 245 sqm with a 42 sqm pool, one of the largest in the Maldives, and steps straight down to the reef.

Above them sit two Beach Residences at 490 sqm and a single Two-Bedroom Ocean Residence at 564 sqm, none of them on the dropdown, so we price those on request.

What this actually costs

Pick your villa and your travel dates above and the price updates to that combination. Every figure is per villa, two adults sharing, three nights, half board, with return seaplane or domestic transfers for two included and all taxes and the service charge inside it. Nothing is added at check-out.

Half board here is more specific than the phrase suggests. It covers breakfast and a three-course à la carte dinner at Ocean Restaurant. Eat at Shorelinegrill or Ba’theli instead and a food-only credit of USD 65 per person applies. Drinks are not covered and anything above the credit is yours.

The package also carries a 24-hour island host, wifi, one in-villa romantic breakfast, one group excursion (the dolphin cruise or sunset fishing), a USD 100 spa credit per villa, snorkelling gear for the stay, an hour of kayak a day, and yoga at the overwater pavilion daily except Monday and Thursday.

Extra nights, a third adult, extra transfers and the Gourmet Plan are all quotable. Ask and we will put those numbers inside your costing rather than let you meet them at reception. These rates are for new bookings only, do not combine with other offers, and can be withdrawn at three days’ notice.

Who this isn’t for

Families with young children. Milaidhoo takes nobody under the age of eight, and every villa holds two adults and one child, or three adults. There is no fourth bed on the island.

And anyone booking three nights for a honeymoon or an anniversary. The celebration benefits, the signature cake, the star-naming ceremony, the couples' massage, the candlelit dinner on your own deck, all need four nights. On three you get none of them. Add the night and tell us, and we will attach the benefits to the booking.

Before you book

• Two ways in. The 35-minute seaplane, or a 15-minute domestic flight to Dharavandhoo and a 15-minute speedboat. Send us your inbound flight time and we will tell you which one your arrival allows.
• Hanifaru Bay runs June to November. That is manta season, and the resort plans three trips a week, weather permitting. Sightings turn on tide, moon phase and current, so nobody can promise them.
• Honeymoon extras need a marriage certificate less than twelve months old, with a copy sent when you book. Honeymoon and babymoon benefits do not combine, and unused benefits are not refunded.
• Check in 14:00, check out 12:00. The reef off the water villa steps is a protected area and among the better house reefs in Baa.
