Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa

Emerald Faarufushi is a Deluxe All-Inclusive island in Raa Atoll: 80 villas on a private 100-hectare island, and a member of The Leading Hotels of the World. Prices here are for four nights, two adults sharing, with the return seaplane and green tax already inside the number.

Three of the seven options are split stays, two nights in one villa and two in another. The package is built for the Indian market and applies to new bookings only.

What this actually costs

Pick your villa and your travel dates from the two dropdowns and the price updates to that combination. Every figure is per villa on Deluxe All-Inclusive, four nights, two adults, with the seaplane, green tax and every other tax inside it. Nothing is added at check-out.

• The seasons do not move together here. In November and December the Beach Villa is the cheapest room on the island by a clear margin, while the Water Villa with Pool jumps above three other categories. In July and August all three entry categories price identically.
• The split stay is how you try the sunset villa. Two nights in one villa and two in another gets you the Sunset Water Villa with Pool without paying four nights of it. The resort can swap the order to suit availability, without notice.
• One excursion is included, the Dolphin Tour or sunset fishing. On the standard all-inclusive an excursion needs a seven-night stay, so at four nights that is a real addition. Dinner is unlimited dine-around across all four restaurants, every night.

Not on the dropdown, but we will price them: stays shorter than four nights, extra nights, and any villa combination not listed. Each prices at the extra nightly rate plus the seaplane, and we put the current figures inside your costing.

Who this isn’t for

Families counting on free children. One child aged 2 to 13.99 sharing with parents in a one-bedroom villa is free on accommodation, though green tax and the seaplane are still payable for them. A second child is chargeable, and in the two-bedroom villas no child is free.

Anyone who wants Indian food at every venue, too. The vegetarian buffet and Indian menu are at AQUA, the buffet restaurant, not across the à la carte rooms, so that shapes where you eat each night. And serious snorkellers should budget for the dive centre: the included guided snorkelling is 20 minutes, twice a week.

Before you book

• Full payment falls due at least ten days before arrival, and cancelling inside ten days forfeits 100%. There is no partial tier. That is tighter than most of the catalogue, so buy travel insurance when you book.
• Occupancy. Base is two adults. The one-bedroom villas take up to two adults and two children, or three adults and one child. Anything larger means the Two Bedroom Family Beach Villa with Pool, of which there are seven, or the single Presidential.
• Transfers are by seaplane both ways and they are in the price. Send us your flight times before you ticket and we will confirm the routing. The Dolphin Kids Club takes children aged 3 to 12.
