Grand Park Kodhipparu in North Malé Atoll has released its full festive calendar for 2026–27, called Celebration of Light & Lagoon. It runs from a daily festive afternoon tea starting 22 November 2026 to Orthodox Christmas on 7 January 2027, with a children's programme every day from 8 December to 1 January.

The key dates

Date What is on
22 Nov to 7 Jan Festive afternoon tea every day at Breeze, the poolside restaurant and bar
26 Nov Thanksgiving dinner, five courses served family-style from the Josper grill at FireDOOR, the overwater restaurant
8 Dec The island tree lighting on Veli Beach at sunset, with festive cocktails and carols, followed by a beach barbecue
24 Dec Christmas Eve dinner at The Edge, a degustation dinner at FireDOOR, a five-course wine pairing dinner in the Wine Cellar, carol singing, and a night dive for certified divers
25 Dec Christmas breakfast and brunch, Santa arriving by sea on Veli Beach at 15:30, a children's party, and a movie under the stars
26 to 30 Dec Boxing Day poolside brunch, beach barbecues, a lobster and sparkling wine dinner, a full-day boat trip to two dive sites with lunch (27 Dec), a Bodu Beru drumming show (29 Dec) and a Champagne dinner in the Wine Cellar (30 Dec)
31 Dec New Year's Eve dinner at The Edge, a six-course Champagne degustation at FireDOOR, then Midnight in White at Breeze from 22:00 to 01:00: a live DJ, the countdown and fireworks over the lagoon, with guests dressed in white
1 Jan New Year's breakfast, poolside brunch and a wine dinner
4 Jan A big-game fishing trip for sailfish, tuna and mahi-mahi
6 and 7 Jan Orthodox Christmas Eve dinner, Orthodox Christmas breakfast, a wine dinner and a beach barbecue

For children

From 8 December to 1 January the Beach Club runs a session for children every day: a junior chefs' club, festive storytelling with Maldivian folk tales, a sand art competition, a night glow party, a bake-off with postcard making, a kids' movie night, a children's New Year's Eve party and a dance session on New Year's Day. A family beach games afternoon follows on 30 December.

Wellness

A few short sessions are free on set mornings: a chakra session on the yoga deck (8 and 28 December), sound therapy (24 and 30 December) and neck and shoulder therapy for couples (25 and 31 December). The spa also runs paid festive packages through the season, including a couples' massage with sound healing between Christmas and New Year. There is no yoga on Sundays.

Proposals and vow renewals

The resort sets up sunset proposals under floral arches, barefoot vow renewals and ceremonies on the beach, private dinners on the sand and floating breakfasts. Groups booking ten villas or more a night are given a dedicated event host from planning to departure.

What it means for your stay

  • Your meal plan decides what is included. The Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day brunches are included on full board and on both all-inclusive plans; on bed and breakfast or half board they are charged. The Christmas Eve dinner at The Edge is charged on bed and breakfast.
  • The special dinners cost extra. The FireDOOR degustations, Wine Cellar dinners, beach barbecues and Thanksgiving are charged, though on plans that carry a dining credit it can be put towards them.
  • New Year's Eve has fixed extras. The resort adds a compulsory charge for every guest staying on 31 December, and the FireDOOR Champagne degustation carries its own supplement on top. We include both in your costing so there is nothing to find at checkout.
  • Book activities early. The dives, the fishing trip and the cruise need a reservation and have limited places, and the night dive is for certified divers only.

Kodhipparu is 20 minutes from Velana International Airport by resort speedboat, and the boat runs at any hour. Festive flights often land late, so not having a seaplane cut-off to make is a real advantage over Christmas and New Year.
