Atmosphere Kanifushi is a strip of sand in Lhaviyani Atoll, about 2.8 km long and only 90 m wide, with one unbroken beach running its length. It is 35 minutes from Velana by seaplane, and 162 villas share it.

What it does not have is a reef you can swim to. The drop-off is steep and the water over it is rough, so the resort runs free snorkelling boats twice a day, at 09:30 and 14:30, to five nearby sites where turtles and reef sharks are common.

What you pay

Pick your dates and a villa and the price is four nights in the whole villa on the Atmosphere Kanifushi Plan, with the return seaplane and every Maldivian tax. Villas are priced for two, except the two-bedroom Sunset Family Beach Villa and the Residence, which are priced for four.

Book by 15 October 2026. The prices on this page then hold for stays until 23 December 2027.

April to October 2027 is the cheapest window. A Sunset Beach Villa is ₹324,800 for four nights from 1 November to 23 December 2026, and ₹256,900 from 10 April to 31 October 2027.

20 to 31 March 2027 carries no offer, so the same villa is ₹491,500 then, well above the weeks either side.

What's included, and what isn't

In the price: your villa, six places to eat, premium spirits, wine and cocktails, a daily minibar, one à la carte dinner per person at The Sunset or Pier Six, a 45-minute spa treatment per adult, a sunset cruise, sunset fishing, an island excursion, the snorkelling boats, non-motorised watersports, the return seaplane and every Maldivian tax.

Not in the price: your international flights, travel insurance, teppanyaki, shisha, the White Beach BBQ, in-villa dining, a night in Malé if you land too late for the seaplane, excess baggage, Indian TCS, and anything not named above.

Who this isn't for

Anyone who pictures stepping off the deck onto coral. That does not happen here, even from the overwater villas.

Anyone landing at Velana after 15:45. Seaplanes fly in daylight only, so a later arrival means a night in Malé at your own expense. Going home, an international flight before 08:45 means flying back to Malé the previous afternoon.

Anyone on a three-night trip. Four nights is the shortest stay priced here, and the spa treatment, the à la carte dinner and the excursions all start at four. We can still price three nights.

A third adult sharing a villa. The supplement is steep. Ask us to price the two-bedroom villa alongside it.

Before you book

Two children aged two to eleven stay and eat free in the Kanifushi Grand Pool Villa and the Kanifushi Residence, on stays until 23 December 2026 or from 10 April to 23 December 2027, booked by 15 October. They pay only green tax. In the other villas children are charged. Tell us their ages and we will price it.

Christmas and New Year have no compulsory gala dinner, and 24 December to 4 January is priced on this page. No offer applies to those dates.

The whole stay is paid in advance. It is charged in full if you cancel inside 14 days of arrival, or 45 days over Christmas and New Year.

Seaplane times are confirmed the evening before. Bags are 20 kg checked and 3 kg cabin.

House reef 2/5 Thin

Little or nothing to snorkel off the beach. Some islands in this band run a free boat to a reef — the note below says whether this one does.

There is a reef here, but you will not swim to it from the beach. It sits at a steep drop-off with rough water over it, so it is reached by boat rather than waded out to, and that holds from every villa category including the overwater ones. What you get instead is unlimited free snorkelling, twice a day at 09:30 and 14:30, to a rotation of five sites nearby, with turtles and reef sharks commonly seen. Guests rate the team running those boats very highly. Come for the beach and the plan. If you want coral off your steps, we will point you elsewhere.

Land at Velana after 15:45 and the last transfer of the day will have gone, which means a night in Malé before you reach the island.

Trans Maldivian seaplane, daylight only, roughly 06:00 to 16:00. An international flight landing after 15:45, or any night arrival, means the transfer moves to the next morning and a night in Male at the guest's own cost. Going home, the resort will not move anyone for an international departure before 08:45, so those guests travel back the previous afternoon. Flight times are only confirmed the evening before. Coral Lounge access at the seaplane terminal is included. Baggage allowance 20kg checked, 3kg cabin, excess payable to the carrier.

Where is Atmosphere Kanifushi? +
On Kanifushi island in Lhaviyani Atoll, north of Male. The island is about 2.8 km long and only 90 m wide, with an unbroken beach running the length of one side. There are 162 villas in nine categories, 128 of them on land and 34 over the water.
How do I get there, and is there a cut-off time? +
By seaplane, 35 minutes from Velana International Airport, operated by Trans Maldivian. Seaplanes fly in daylight only, roughly 06:00 to 16:00, so your international flight has to land by 15:45. Land later, or arrive at night, and you spend the first night in Male at your own cost. Going home, the resort cannot move you for an international departure before 08:45, so those guests travel back to Male the previous afternoon. Send us your flight times and we will check the connection before you book.
Is there a house reef you can snorkel from the beach? +
No, and this is the single most important thing to know about the island. There is a reef, but it sits at a steep drop-off with rough water over it, so it is reached by boat rather than swum to. What does the Atmosphere Kanifushi Plan actually cover? +
Six places to eat, premium spirits, wine and cocktails, and a minibar restocked daily. On a stay of four nights or more it also carries one a la carte dinner per person at The Sunset or Pier Six, one 45-minute spa treatment per adult, a sunset cruise, sunset fishing, one island excursion, unlimited snorkelling boats and non-motorised watersports. Teppanyaki, shisha, the White Beach BBQ and in-villa dining are charged.
Why is the minimum four nights? +
Because the rates themselves are built on four, and so is almost everything included. The spa treatment, the fine-dining dinner, the excursions, the honeymoon extras and the villa welcome amenities all begin at four nights. A three-night stay carries a supplement that no offer reduces, so you pay more per night and get less. We will book three nights, we just cost them by hand.
Do children stay free? +
In the Kanifushi Grand Pool Villa and the Kanifushi Residence, two children aged two to eleven stay and eat free when sharing with their parents, with only the government's green tax to pay. In the other categories a child is charged at a reduced rate. The two-bedroom Sunset Family Beach Villa is priced for four people from the start, which is often the cheaper answer for a family of four. Tell us the ages and we will cost the options side by side.
Is it good for a family, or for a honeymoon? +
Both, and the island is big enough that the two do not collide. There is a kids club, a clubhouse, tennis, paddle and football courts, and interconnecting two-bedroom beach villas. Honeymooners travelling within a year of the wedding get bed decoration, a candlelit dinner, a cake and a turndown ritual free on four nights and above, in any villa category, with a copy of the certificate.
Can we book Christmas or New Year? +
Yes, and unusually for the Maldives there is no compulsory gala dinner on either night, which is stated in the contract we hold. Those dates are on the dropdown at their own rate. Two things to plan around: no offer applies to them, and they cancel at 45 days before arrival rather than 14.
What happens to these prices after 15 October? +
15 October is the booking deadline, not the travel deadline. Book by then and you can travel until 23 December 2027 at the prices on this page. After that we quote by hand until the resort issues its next offer. Tell us your dates, how many adults and children and their ages, and whether you want a pool, and we will come back with a costing that has the seaplane and every tax inside one figure.
