Maldives unveils logo for the Golden Jubilee Year of Tourism, 2022

The Ministry of Tourism has unveiled the logo that will be used to celebrate and promote the country’s Golden Jubilee Year of Tourism 2022 during a virtual ceremony recently.

Chairman of Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI), Mohamed Umar Manik, unveiled the logo during a virtual ceremony. Following the unveiling, MU Manik remarked on the last 49 years of the tourism industry in the Maldives and stressed the number of challenges in promoting tourism in the initial phase.

A reflection of the rich heritage, culture, and environment of Maldives

The logo launching ceremony was also joined by MATI’s vice chairman Hussain Afeef; current minister of health and industry pioneer, Ahmed Naseem; first minister of tourism, Ahmed Mujthaba; current minister of tourism, Dr Abdulla Mausoom; managing director of The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), Thoyyib Mohamed; and Guesthouse Association of Maldives (GAM)’s president, Abdulla Nasheed. The logo was designed by Abdulla Nashaath and Mohamed Azlif to reflect the rich heritage, culture, and environment of Maldives. In 2022, the Maldives will mark 50 years since the inception of the tourism industry in the Maldives. Several promotional and celebratory campaigns have launched with more to follow in the upcoming year.
